American Christian Missionaries must be thrilled at what they have accomplished in Uganda!

This is very hard to watch...To see so many people with so much HATE in them all due to RELIGION is very scary! To think America would be like this if many of the Evangelical Christians got their way!

1. I could barely get past the interviews at the beginning: "They should be killed." "I hate them."
WTF? This is not Christianity.

3. That IS Christianity.
You and I don't have to like it, but we don't get to say what is and what is not Christianity for others. Certainly, it's not the Christianity I recognize in my own background.

6. Oh Yeah?
If the teachings of any group violates the whole of the teachings of Jesus Christ, I reserve the right to label such violations "non-Christian".

America's Christless Christians have made an industry out of such violations.

7. Naturally, you can say and believe whatever you want. You can even call it Christianity.
You can say and believe that pink unicorns sprinkle cockleshells and fairy dust on us all, and that this explains why we get hungry, and call that Christianity.

And I'm saying:

Homophobia is an essential part and value of the practice of Christianity.

2. Seems comparable to life for homosexuals in most Muslim nations.
Edited on Tue Apr-26-11 08:50 AM by WatsonT
See, it's not so bad because Muslims do it too.

/am I doing this right or did I get it backwards?

5. Almost too horrible to watch.
I suspect that if many Americans could speak their minds, they would say similar hateful things. A very depressing and anger-making video. Everyone should watch it.

9. Unfortunate
It's unfortunate that those folks in Uganda are being taught that way; to hate, be intolerant, and hypocritical. Christianity's being hijacked to further an agenda of a few. Sad.

God loves all of us, regardless of what we're doing, or what we've done.

13. The evil manipulations of corrupt xtianity. Give a suppressed people someone to look down on.
Edited on Tue Apr-26-11 02:53 PM by Kurovski
Focus on "teh gay" while some corrupt government robs you blind, and strips the nation of its resources. (y'know, KINDA like here in the USA over the past thirty years where we are fortunate enough to have had some protections and many supporters, and even a number of rights)

Rape is a "cure for homosexuality"? This is what madness comes from believing in everything you are told without doing your homework, when you live in fear, when you feel powerless, and when you are pretty goddam fucking stupid.

If I were born a billionaire, I would found an organization that would help to lift these gay people from their regressive societies around the world, including some ME Muslim nations, and bring them to freer and less corrupt, lunatic-run nations if they so wished it. Let the rest wallow in the shithole of hate they created for themselves. Do we have such organizations? I would donate.

Jeff Sharlet's book is good place to learn how evil works. Not to overstate it, but then again, too bad if I did.

17. Any blood spilled over this can be immediately traced back to Rick Warren and C-Street.
