Who gave coalition forces in Libya the right to eliminate Gaddafi? That's the question Vladimir Putin's been asking, during an official visit to Denmark. The Russian Premier also said NATO's effectively joined one of the warring sides in the conflict. And more responsible action should be taken instead.

6. Lockerbie
I would suggest that the 259 human beings who died at the (admitted) hand of Ghaddafi gave permission.

I hate the idea of any one country going in, like Reagan did, to assassinate a leader of another nation. But I refuse to clutch my pearls over this guy. Ghaddafi had every intention of killing thousands of his own people based on his ego alone.

If there is going to be this kind of thing done, and I wish it didn't happen, but if it's going to happen then it should be done by a group of nations, under treaty.

I loathe the Bush Doctrine (now the Obama Doctrine) but I have no sympathy for Ghaddafi.
