5. Medicare and Social Security are bare-bones programs. |

They do not provide "profits" to the recipients although they do provide them to the Medicare Advantage companies, and they do pay profits to some hospitals and fair wages to doctors, nurses and other medical professionals.
Medicare and Social Security are not wasteful. And if those programs did not exist, taxpayers would have to pay the same or possibly more money to provide those same services and benefits to those same people.
Social Security and Medicare just provide a framework to pay costs the government would have to pay whether those programs existed or not.
There is nothing to be gained by trying to cut or destroy Social Security and Medicare -- nothing.
