Senator Ayn also equates a right to food and water with slavery.
Somewhere---I don't know the exact location, but somewhere---George Orwell is busting a gut.

3. Are Teachers/Firemen/Police slaves?
No, they are not. That pretty much kills your argument right there, Senator Paul.

P.S. I can't get over that the people of Kentucky actually voted for someone as witless as you.

5. Do slaves get paid for their services?
Edited on Thu May-12-11 08:10 PM by sulphurdunn
This fucker is a stone cold psychopath, but according to his own philosophy I absolutely have the right to drag him away in chains if it serves my self-interest and I have the power to make him my property, because no one deserves anything, not even freedom.

7. I could be wrong...
but isn't there some kind of OATH which doctors take?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippocratic_Oath

He's acting like he'd have to treat people at gunpoint, and not be paid at all. Goofus.

14. He asks, "Do you have a right to food?" meaning it's OK with him if people starve.
Do you have a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? Apparently not, according to Rand Paul. If you can't earn your food, go starve. If you can't afford good medical insurance, get sick and die. If the poor and unlucky get any breaks provided from the generosity of the greater society, then that's slavery. Generosity. That's a word you don't hear from the Republicans much.

15. How could people vote for this piece of shit?
He also wants to reinstate the right to segregation. He is so bad that he actually does damage to his father's credibility. This isn't libertarianism, this is extremism.

16. a right to food is slavery?
This from a pro life christian..a doctor? Wow..doublethinking is the same as the Big Lie coined by Hitler and used by Orwell, but good grief Glenn Beck said the same thing. He claimed that social justice were coded words for communism and nazism.

Rand is a paradox. He joined to co-sponsor the Life at Conception Act. This bill, if enacted into law, could seek prosecution on a pregnant mother for anything deemed unhealthy for the fetus.

He also introduced a resolution along with Vitter that would amend the constitution to deny a fetus US citizenship because his parents have not yet attained it. Now that's an awful lot of intervening legislation from someone who believes in liberty and the right to privacy. He's a liar. Just like his colleagues he wants to pick and choose. Right to food, shelter, health care for the fetus or citizenship through birthright? NO

But we the government retain the right to prosecute you should you not legally provide those yourself.

17. That is along the lines of what I was thinking.
I think most (non-sociopaths) would agree that, YES, people have a right to Food-sustenance, and Yes, people have a Right to Health care...How else could anyone "pursue, life liberty or happiness?" He is a fucking idiot. Hopefully, he bought his way into "public service" (or some"one" else did) I shudder to think of anyone actually voting for this steaming turd. He must be of the mind that any publicity is good publicity....

21. People whose eyes are already glazed from worshipping his daddy
Let's remind people that he's not board-certified. He considered that slavery too and set up his own certifying organization, whose officers are himself, his wife, and his father-in-law.
http://crooksandliars.com/john-amato/rand-paul-isnt-being-board-certified-wh

So he's not really into that whole accountibility thing. So naturally becoming a US senator looked like a good deal to him.

23. Medicare/Medicade
If I follow his logic, this means that currently people over 65 are breaking into Doctor's homes RIGHT NOW, this very minute, and kidnapping them to make them provide health care against their own free will!

Excellent!
