" Sens. Mike Lee (R-UT) and John McCain (R-AZ) have introduced Senate Bill 635, which would sell off land in Utah and other western states. Lee estimates that selling off 3.3 million acres of federal land in the West would bring in a billion dollars — which would save, for example, four times less than Senate Democrats’ proposal to end subsidies for Big Oil would in a single year.

7. This attitude toward our nation's assets, "sell quick for quick profits"
is precisely what got us into our fiscal mess.

Please. This is idiotic.

Why don't we go for another round of sub-prime mortgages on our houses while we are at it?

Remember the Bush years when families were saying:

"Why don't we take out one of those low interest loans on our house and pay off the debt for the new car and that vacation in Bermuda."
"Great idea, honey."

Republicans. Don't know how to make ends meet.

We shouldn't sell our most valuable assets.

We need to give up our luxuries -- like all those planes we buy for our military kids to play with. They just make a lot of noise and tear everything up anyway. That's where we should cut back.

Don't sell out America.

8. They are gearing up for another transfer of wealth. This time the target is prime Fed lands.
