9. The saddest part about her being wrong is that they probably knew it was a crazy |

high percent, but didn't look it up. They figured 50% was outrageous enough!

12. Thanks for the link W T F. I needed another one. |

Seriously, "They" don't want this information widely available. Too bad we no longer have a Real Media. Free Speech TV is deeply hidden on satellite networks, but Thank God they are still around.

17. Your link has the numbers from 2004 not 2009 |
|
My guess is the disparity has only gotten worse since then given the trending has been towards greater disparity.

right up there with day care workers- who hold Americans' future in their hands? It can be a very ugly future, trust me on this one, there is only so much 1 can do at a 10 to 1 ratio for 2 year olds= the formative years!

13. Sadly, (sickeningly really) McD's could have Unionized, |
|
well paid workers and still make good profits. GREED is the American master.

5. If you want to speak to Americans, you have to speak with an American |
|
accent. That is not peculiar to America. That is true in virtually any country I have been to. In fact, Americans are more tolerant of foreign accents than are people in other countries. There were just too many foreign accents and foreign opinions about the US in this video. Quite ineffective whether true or not.

We are more tolerant than people of other nations, but we have our limits.
Asking people with foreign accents to criticize America just doesn't will not open the ears of Americans. When someone with a German accent, for example, makes comments about the American employment situation, the viewer asks whether the comments are based on personal knowledge or hearsay (statements heard from others and not based on personal knowledge).
Asking people with foreign accents to comment on life in America as an immigrant or on live in some other part of the world suggests expertise, personal knowledge, and is credible.

16. Of the three person-on-the-street interviews, 2 had foreign accents. Of all non-reporter speakers, |
|
Edited on Mon Jun-06-11 09:10 AM by DireStrike
3/5 had American accents. Including the anchors and reporters, 5/7 people had American accents.
It's a bizarre thing to complain about, especially when it isn't true.
BTW you don't live in a major city, do you? A solid proportion of person-on-the-street interviews here in NY are accented.

This is fact... The American Dream has now become, can I even get a job at McD's??? The real threat now is when Americans turn on each other.. Its already happening... This is not the American Dream I had all my working life..
You would think theses wars and their devastation happened to us here... Remember we were told these wars were needed to keep these Terrorists from coming here.. Now look at the American Dream now...

11. Even then the National Hiring Day was a joke. |

All they did for the most part was collect applications so they can throw them into the trash.

disgusting..What does the US government expect Americans to do, all work at McDonalds for minimum pay? You can't even rent an apartment for that kind of money.. its better than unemployment but not that much better, and as for that guy, becoming a restaurant manager, he might be one of the lucky ones who got a leg up.. but not everyone can be a shop manager. (And betting it doesn't pay all that well either.)
This country's corporations ship all the good paying jobs overseas for cheap labor, leaves the rest of this country with the choice of unemployment or working for a fast food restaurant. Then you have Republicans destroying Unions rights on top of it.. I really hate where all of this is going..and I am sure there will be others who feel the same.
