Thom Hartmann: Why Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas must be impeached

TJ McCormack, Conservative Commentator/Fox News Contributor joins Thom Hartmann. The New York Times reported last week that Justice Thomas is happily accepting generous favors from right-wing millionaire Harlan Crowe of Trammel Crowe construction fame and fortune. Along with giving millions of dollars to the Republican Party and right-wing hit groups like Swift Boat Veterans for Truth - Harlan Crowe has also lavished Justice Thomas with tens of thousands of dollars in gifts including a $15,000 bible that once belonged to Frederick Douglass. Crowe also cut Justice Thomas’ wife a half million-dollar check so that she could start her own Tea Party lobbying firm dedicated to repealing Obamacare - a case that her husband will likely decide when the Supreme Court determines the constitutionality of the health reform law in the coming months.

So we can now add this misdeed to the laundry list of bad behavior by Justice Thomas - from unethical fundraising - to not disclosing his wife's right-wing income - to obvious conflicts of interest on the bench - all of which are clear violations of the federal code of conduct for judges.

The remarkable thing about this story is that what Clarence Thomas is doing on the bench is far worse than what other Justices have been forced to resign for doing. Case in point - Judge Abe Fortas - an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court who was nominated by Lyndon Johnson to be the Chief Justice in 1968. But after it was uncovered that Fortas received $15,000 from American University to lead seminars - and another $20,000 from a law firm for consulting services - Fortas was forced to resign

Impeachment without any chance of conviction doesn't mean much, not that any of it is going to happen in the case of Thomas.

The melting of the glaciers is changing the pressure on the techtonic plates which

will increase the number of earthquakes and the severity of earthquakes --

earthquakes in turn generate new volcanic activity.


That's why the Town of Fukushima wanted to shut down their reactors -- they were built

to withstand only 7.0 earthquakes -- and scientists were noting increasing seismic

activity -- US government sent a team to reverse this decision -- change the Mayor --

and voila! here we are -- FUKU'd --

This isn't only about Japan, of course -- it is obout our planet --

on the loudest stations in every state, including most of the stations that do major college and pro sports a few times a week, and all the other progressive takers were doing the same thing in a coordinated campaign, and the dems had a bunch of talking heads and political operatives wired to the ultra rich left wing think tanks saying the same thing on TV or writing about it, and thomas supporters had ipods in their ears all day so they didn't even know about the radio part.

or maybe even if he was making stories up or distorting, or exaggerating and it wouldn't matter because no one was getting in his face because his call screeners would make sure he only got paid callers.
