It is the first time Mandela and the First Lady have ever met and the first major overseas trip (solo) for the First Lady. The trip included both her daughters and her mother. They toured the Nelson Mandela Foundation and will be visiting the prison at Robbeneiland, in which Mandela was held for nearly 20 years. People interviewed see the trip as very motivating for young black women and exciting, and will be a chance for her to bring important issues to the forefront including youth leadership and education.
