Bashir: In the interests of safety, how far is too far?

Bashir interviews former managing director of TSA Peter Boelz:

Peter Boelz: It's pretty outrageous, isn't it? The TSA describes Aviation Safety as a 'laired approach'. And in this case unfortunately I'm afraid this grandmother ran into the stupid lair. I mean this is outrageaus and it's unnecessary.

Bashir reads statement from TSA and points out that there is no apology or expression of regret.

Peter Boelz: You would think that somewhere in the system there would be someone in the system with common sense and has the ability to excercise that common sense.

Boelz goes on the say that the TSA better do something to stop these outrages or they will lose the support of Congress, which is already happening, but more importantly, the support of the public.

He also says the TSA should express its regret and offer its apologies to both women. Not sure if they've done this yet.

Very good interview.

1. If I could stand looking at that two-bit, character assassinating asshole Martin Bashir....
...I'd watch this. As is, I'll read about it elsewhere. :hi:

4. Thanks, I agree with Keith. Not just for this incident, but because
he lied to the public and Congress last Fall when he said, in response to the outrage over the frisking of little children, that they were going to change the policy regarding children, under 13. Still bad, but we thought it was a beginning in response to public outrage.

However, just recently when Rep. Chaffetz was introducing his bill to restrict the TSA's actions regarding another incident with a child, he stated that the TSA had even violated their own rules, assuming as most of us did, that the rules, as promised, had been changed. The TSA's response? 'We have no rules regarding children'. So, as the ACLU stated, 'um, that's even worse' and Rep. Chaffetz introduced another bill to protect children from the fondling of TSA agents.

The remedy: Olbermann said it might be time for the TSA chief to go.

“Translation: Screw you, public, we can do whatever the hell we want,” Olbermann said. “That attitude has only been growing in the last year since the feel-ups began at the airports and if it’s not going to change – the agency is really going to defend abusing 95-year-old leukemia patients on the incomprehensible premise that they might be suicide bombers, then this John Pistole, head of the TSA – he needs to be fired and we need to get a human being in there to do his job. John Pistole, TSA chief: Frisk this buddy – today’s worst person in the world!”

Couldn't agree more. Good for Keith. Just want to mention that it was always Liberals who opposed these policies. The article makes it seem as though they've only wakened up recently.
