1. A nephew of the king of Saudi Arabia is not "self-made" |
|
Even if most of his wealth came through his own investments:
1) The money he inherited/was given as a prince made him rich right from the get-go. That gave him a big stake to start investing with.
2) Just due to his birth, he started off with a golden, diamond encrusted Rolodex. He can call anyone, and they will take his calls. And presidents named Bush smooch with him in front of the cameras.
3) The flipside of (2): people trying to curry favor or gain influence in the Gulf (or enlist him to help with ventures elsewhere, right Rupert?) come to him with opportunities.
"Shrewd investor", maybe, though with advantages like that you don't have to be all that shrewd, just not activly stupid. "Self made"? In a pig's ass!

2. what would be really interesting |
|
is for the prince to become the major stake holder in News Corp after the fall of the murdochs.
this just occurred to me: what religion is this prince? And what kind of trash do they talk about his religion on their air? Uh huh... it'll be funny to watch hannity, oreilly and "meghan high-dudgeon" start to go easy on Islam and Muslims when fux has spent decades vilifying it--- and they'll have to answer to their viewers for their about face. Talk about the snake eating its own tail.

...what religion do you think he is?
He's also a major investor in the group backing Park 21 (the "Ground Zero mosque"), at least until Fox and friends stared making hay over it.
