was how math and science talent is being diverted to destroying the US and world economy in exchange for short term profits.

Also, derivatives, while profitable, divert money from real investments. In the end these profits have to come from somewhere. That somewhere you see holding cardboard "Help me Please" signs at intersections and freeway off ramps. That somewhere lies in workers whose pension funds are looted. And the next Big Somewhere will be our Social Security Trust Fund handed to Wall Street to loot at will. The looting is already institutionalized.
