I agree with Mr. Hedges take on the current Christian-Fascist connection, but was disappointed he didn't point out here (and in his debate with Christopher Hitchens) that it's nothing new.
If anyone bothered to look you'd see the Anglo-American political-financial establishment, and the Church, were in bed with all the old Fascists, Hitler, Mussolini, Franco, Batista, and the Greek Monarchy. General Smedley Butler, a U.S. folk hero, blew the whistle on an apparent Fascist takeover of the United States in the early 40's. Wall Street, The Church, and the White House also supported every fascist after W.W. II, the list endless.
What we're seeing now, the melting of big money and religion into big politics is nothing new. What's new is, after decades of corporate media brainwashing, nobody knows it anymore.
