From Youtube:

Bit by bit, piece by piece, the US government is taking away all your rights and freedoms and property. How far are you willing to let them go until you stop them? Did you realize governments around the world control the local news? Even Hitler made up stories for the newspaper. It's time to make a decision for yourself.

Excerpt from Michael Badnarik's constitution class.

Enjoy.

3. This country started with these same precepts
They were confronting the other George back then. They drew the line and stood their ground. We have to be aware that it is all coming around full circle.

11. Hitler did get the Austria/Hungary vote, yes.......
But it wasn't a "free" choice. His SS were at the polling stations, and they let it be known that they could see how you voted...sure, under those circumstances, he "won".

15. What exactly is Badnarik's point here? That elections are bad?

6. On the other hand, if the jews knew where it was going to lead
I think they would have made a bigger stink earlier on, instead of trying to not make a big fuss, as a small and persecuted minority.

Their crystal balls must have been broken.

7. No Doubt
The entire foreign policy of Israel is based on never letting one step in that direction.

The important part is the frog in the pot of water effect. When do we feel it? If the slowly ratcheting noose of oppression was solely, or mainly on the necks of Jews, there would definately be a powerful movement to stop it. Jews (by and large) have learned the lessons of the Holocaust. What about when the oppression is so much more general? What if its discriminatory factor is not race or religion, but economic? What if there's a ready-made scapegoat in the form of religious fanatics from a strange and foreign place? When do we notice that the noose is on our own necks?

14. Exactly right - that's why I'm freaking out about what's going on
here now. It just seems a little 20-20 hindsightish to blame the Jews for what happened. Not that the prof was doing that, necessarily - it just seemed like one could take it that way.

17. But they did shit. You just didn't know about it.
"President Bush's success rating in the Democratic-controlled House has fallen this year to a half-century low, and he prevailed on only 14 percent of the 76 roll call votes on which he took a clear position.

"So far this year, Democrats have backed the majority position of their caucus 91 percent of the time on average on such votes. That marks the highest Democratic unity score in 51 years."

Don't let the media rhetoric fool you. The Democrats have acquitted themselves quite well--especially given their bare majority in both houses, and a relentlessly obstructionist Republican minority.

10. Oh, but we are complying. Think about it. The arrest of protesters..
as at the Gannon Office Building this morning in Washington, the illegal wiretapping, the compliance of the communication industry to turn over records, the airport searches, the tasering, the negligence of Katrina......we get a bit wriled for a while and then it's on to the next atrocity, ad infinitum. What about the Patriot(?) Acts, the Presidential directives 51 and 54, the Military Commission Act? Yep. We're compliant. imho

16. Did you know that people protested when they first installed traffic lights?
A lot of people were upset when the govenment first introduced stoplights. How could the government step in and take away their freedoms like that?

Verily, government is evil.

But Americans didn't resist--and another freedom was lost.

If those bad people had just listened to Badnarik and reached for their guns, the imposition of traffic lights would have been prevented, and we would still be free. Probably dead--but free.
