That's a funny coinkydink... Tom Clancy also had a similar plot in one of his novels. No one could predict someone using a plane as a bomb. Yeah... ok.... If you say so Condi.:eyes:

8. That's the one that I always refer to when arguing

with my republican friends. Sure, she could have missed an episode of the Lone Gunman, but the wingnuts, especially a cold warrior wingnut, would have definitely read Clancy's "Executive Orders".

Also in that book was an Iranian bio weapons attack on the general population of the United States, using a weaponized strain of Ebola virus.

Also, after assassinating Saddam, the Iranians move in and, seamlessly, take over Iraq. Something that in the book turned out to be a very dangerous thing for the United States.

You know that the wingnuts read this book.

Of course, the Lone Gunman nailed the target of the terror attack, the WTC, and nailed the small cabal of criminals inside our own government as the planners (MIHOP).

9. Two factual errors:

1) The pilot called in the flight (which was described as being a 727) as a "heavy." A 727 isn't a "heavy."

2) The problem was solved using a Windows computer. When was the last time THAT happened?

11. The scene near the end where the plane is approaching the WTC

always sends a shiver down my spine. I remember walking around in a daze after seeing this. And that has been the reaction of anyone whom I have shown this to. Frankly, (tin foil cap alert) the idea of having an external control of the different flights makes a lot of sense. The biggest problem with the scenario as potrayed in the LG episode is that they had no "bad guys" to blame the crash on. So... substitute some poorly trained terrorists, make them think they can fly the plane, and actually have someone else fly it by wire into the Pentagon and wtc. No problems then with the really difficult flying jobs done by the "hijackers". Makes as much sense as some of the other theories I have read.
