Check out this video by blogger Davis Fleetwood, who's now working for DK.

(I've always thought it was "stacks the deck." Oh well, whatever.)

1. "Why does CNN want Hillary to win?"
Because their parent company, AOL Time Warner, has a lot of money riding on her. She's where they've laid their chips, and they are one of her top contributors. If elected, payback will be returned to CNN in a major way.

Its pretty straitforward. CNN is invested in Hillary as a company, its all public information. The odd thing is that nobody knows.

2. CNN might not be inviting Davis back...

But it sure was an interesting remark by Gloria Borger.

(Or is the spin room separate from the network?)

6. Or, maybe they are promoting her

because she and any repub would make big money during the campaign. We all suspect that CNN doesn't really "like" Hillary. It's just a matter of business. And, if Hillary isn't polarizing they will make her so. Blitzer was so obvious with his hack job on the other candidates. Allowing the crowd to set the mood for a particular candidate is insulting to the tv crowd and the other candidates.

Edit: Another thought, this could be a CNN vs MSNBC issue? CNN had to outdo MSNBC and the commotion that debate caused.

8. Right...we could call it the Paris Hilton factor.
She will generate a lot of press, a lot of human interest news and they certainly want that, and they also benefit from a polarizing candidate on whom everybody has an opinion.

I think its certainly a CNN vs MSNBC thing. MSNBC does not want her to win, because they can't invest in her like CNN...That's why they did the hack job on her and Dennis...Its pretty well accepted that Dennis is a critical factor in her getting elected: If he weren't there, the support for the other lower tier candidates would fall away and there is a very good chance that a clear Hillary alternative would arise in either Obama Edwards or Biden, but the validity and popularity of Kucinich keeps the Hillary opposition spread very thin. (I love Dennis BTW, but that's how it is. )

FOX on the other hand seems fairly neutral with some Hillary bias...I don't think they are worried about making money bashing any of them, its not like they have ot rely on facts!

9. Scuse me. But Rupert Murdoch himself has met with Hillary and contributed to her...
while the nototious Mellon-Scaife, Chief instigator of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy has met with Just Our Bill and contributed 200 thou to his foundation.

Now idnt that a coinkydink? And all of a sudden Mellon Scaife and Murdoch love the Clintons?

These are not people I want any candidate on the dem
side receiving money from or owing favors to.

11. Yeah, Fox would like her, if only for the human interest news and contraversy she brings.
Don't get me wrong...But they aren't invested in her the same way I think CNN is. What I'm saying is I think CNN would like her to win, while Fox would more happily take a Republican winner.

10. their silence
IS their bias.

Faux wants a Hillary victory because:

A: She is easier to beat.

B: She is easier to run negative against

C: IF she manages to win, she will be the most corporate friendly.

7. I'll just hope that she has som sense of pride left
and plays CCN for all they're worth if she gets elected.

CCN was shameless however.

3. Excellent. Excellent. I really enjoyed this.
And he is so right. I especially liked that he nailed those clinton news network shills cutting down the candidates - except of course the network's namesake, Clinton.

5. Man. That was refreshing. I tried watching the Blitzer piece on Biden and had to turn it off 10 sec
into it because I couldn't stand having Blitzer and CNN be my lens for seeing the world.

I watched this one straight through to the end.
