Actually this makes O'Reilly look sane and sensible. I follow what Al Mohler does and says because I wonder how someone who was so sweet as a boy could change this much. He is president of the Southern Baptist Seminary, he reaches many young minds in that position.

He not long ago said sex is only for procreation and that birth control is an affront to God. When I say these churches were hijacked, I meant it.

This is alarming to me. Franklin Graham says if you like Islam so much go live in Saudi Arabia. Pat Robertson called tham all crazy, and my itty bitty buddy Al Mohler condemned them to hell along with other religions.

Here is the post I made where Al declared that deliberate childlessness was an affront to God.

http://journals.democraticunderground.com/madfloridian/113

""In a Nov. 27 Chicago Tribune story about married couples choosing to remain childless, Al Mohler, president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, said he sees such a decision as violating God's will.

"I am trying to look at this from a perspective that begins with God's creation," Mohler said. "God's purpose in creation is being trumped by modern practices."

"I would argue that it ought to be falling short of the glory of God. Deliberate childlessness defies God's will," he said."

That is not all he said in the article, and he is truly worrying me.

1. I doubt if they have a pipeline to God's will
And they make themselves sound self-righteous by saying they do.

2. Yes, and he's the 'spiritual leader' of some relatives of mine ..
Al Mohler, that is.

I'm well familiar with the 'Deliberate Childlessness' column; I sent it to my in-laws. Let's just say I didn't sway them away from Southern Baptist theology.

Fascinating nutbucket (Dr. Mohler).

3. Trust me he says the people who have no children are violating God's will because
of the same reason the Catholic church banned contraception. It's all a matter of winning or losing numbers in your particular faith. Christianity is growing much slower than Muslim or Deism or even Wicca in this country. They have a real hard time gaining converts now so they have to birth them.

4. The Flying Monkey Right
Most American really don't know how twisted are the beliefs of the Religious Right. I'd suggest you look at the film "Jesus Camp" to get a notion of how early the hateful and extreme indoctrination begins for their children. This inevitably leads to most of these children becoming hateful and extreme adults. I grew up in this fundamentalist culture and fortunately learned enough about the real world to get the hell away from these crazy people.

This is why it is so extremely dangerous to our nation, and to the world, to have the Flying Monkey Right in charge of the Republican Party.

6. Mohler and the "quiverfull" movement....MSNBC
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15701301/site/newsweek/page/2/

"Beyond such purists, the anti-birth control message appears to be gaining ground among some evangelicals. Albert Mohler, president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, has become one of its most prominent advocates. “If a couple sees children as an imposition, as something to be vaccinated against, like an illness, that betrays a deeply erroneous understanding of marriage and children,” says Mohler. “Children should be seen as good by default.” His stance isn’t as extreme as that of quiverfull followers; for instance, he condones the use of condoms for married couples in extreme circumstances, like illness. Still, Mohler’s views are considered “an oddity” in mainstream Baptist circles, according to Richard Land, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. Land admits, however, that Mohler has certainly expanded his following. “He is seen as the popularizer of a position that is still very marginal, but 15 years ago, it wouldn’t have even been discussed,” says Land, adding that he knows of at least two former students who had reverse vasectomies after hearing Mohler’s arguments."

8. More Mohler stuff...this time about Catholics and salvation.
I saw a video of this once, but it is not on You Tube yet. He did say stuff like this on the Donahue show before MSNBC cancelled it because of high ratings. That would so be a treasure to find.

Here is a link to a discussion on it.
http://forums.pueblochieftain.com/archive/index.php/t-111.html

"This Sunday, April 24, a televised simulcast titled, "Justice Sunday", will feature high profile right wing Christian evangelicals in a program aimed at ending "filibusters" against "people of faith".

Presumably, religious leaders, including Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family, Dr. Albert Mohler of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, prison ministry preacher Chuck Colson, and Senate Majority leader Dr. Bill Frist, will join hands to rally the Christian troops against the machinations of the minority Democrats
against a small handful of Bush judicial nominees.

But not all the Christians Soldiers should be expected to attend.

Focus On The Family board member Dr. Albert Mohler dismisses the Roman Catholic church as "a false church and it teaches a false gospel.” On his website ( www.albertmohler.com ) he reaffirms his stance, "Well, I stand by my comments, made a few years ago on 'Larry King Live.' My statements reflect nothing more than classic evangelical theology."
