This is from tonight's Scarborough Country. I expect to see it on THE DAILY SHOW, I guess the guy did not get the memo that THE DAILY SHOW is a fake news show.

1. I'll bet that nut just opens Kool-Aid packets and eats the dry powder.
The Daily show needs to maintain its credibility as a credible source of comedy? That made me laugh out loud.

2. Comedy doesn't have to be credible....
it has to be FUNNY!!

What a pompous ass. This is where the genius of the Daily Show & Colbert resides. They can use humor to educate.

3. Does the inverse work?
It mostly made me scratch my head in confusion. I wonder if they believe the inverse is true (something needs to be funny to be credible)

9. In fairness to him,
...while he made a strange remark, for a conservative to be asked to comment on "The Daily Show" repeatedly might have felt like a strange situation.

12. why bother with "in fairness to him"?
They never displayed fairness to Stewart or to US.

Let 'em taste a little unfairness for once.

11. That line nearly killed me!
And I hope that if Pelosi and others lie and steal and piss on the Constitution The Daily Show will give them a hard time. But these twerps suggest that this would be evidence weakness in the enemy ranks. Jesus.

Edited on Tue Nov-28-06 07:22 AM by fasttense
who did he come to? He comes to Fox News." What the heck? Was he trying to say how important Fake New is? The Vice President should have gone to the police, instead he went on Fake News. When I shoot my friend in the face, I will go on Fake News too. What a very strange comment Scarborough made.

18. Jon Stewart has gravitas
judging by the right-wingers reactions to his show. They accord him the status of a rival newscaster. He's a comedian for heavens sakes! His show is on Comedy Central, and his aim is to be funny, not fair or balanced. Are they really that stupid or that desperate? And it's not "fake news" - he comments and editorializes on politicians' real deeds or misdeeds. The Republicans just provide him with easy material for his routines.

21. The right wingers -have to treat him as a serious commentator.
What Jon Stewart says hurts them so much they have to build him up. The alternative is to acknowledge that their power (and self-estemm) is being eroded by a clown (so to speak)...

Besides, isn't the "Colbert Report" enough to balance out "The Daily Show"?

25. compared to Fox News, the Daily Show is a serious commentary.
:)

And the reason that Pelosi won't get slammed as much as Bush, is that competence isn't funny.

Has there been a day in the last six months that Scarborough hasn't been obsessing over the Daily Show?
I think it's time for a trip to rehab for Scarborough. :sarcasm:

26. Scarborough is freaking obssessed with Jon Stewart!
It's funny, I can count on one hand the times I have actually watched Scarborough and he is ALWAYS talking about Jon Stewart or The Daily Show.. Why are Republicans so enthralled with Jon? I think they secretly watch. They seem to know an awful lot about it.
