Last night, I attended a rally in Seneca, SC, with John Edwards and the legendary Dr. Ralph Stanley. Check out some highlights from the event in the video above.

5. Ralph Stanley is such a gifted musician

I was blown away by his music. At the end of the rally, he led the crowd in singing, "Amazing Grace." I'll upload more video of his performance soon.

I saw Ralph Stanley at the pre-Jefferson/Jackson dinner rally in November. The music really was great and it just fit right in with the campaign.

8. Great theme: "You're the ones that matter."

The "people-powered" meme is his strongest, and he really worked it at the Seneca rally. That's great. I hope he'll focus his ads there for a while and lay aside the "Two Americas" speech until later. Sure it's a great theme, but anything said too often becomes stale. Like Rudy's "9-11! 9-11! 9-11! 9-11! 9-11! 9-11!" it risks becoming self-parody.

I was pleased to see Dr. Stanley there, as I'm a big fan of his work. Who knew that ol' country boy was an Edwards fan?! Yippee!
