1. Thanks for that!
Sometimes, even while we're looking for signs of bias in our news media, we're taken in by the labeling of right wing rhetoric. For example, it never occured to me to refer to "the surge" as "escalation", but that's exactly what it is. I saved this video to my Favorite Videos list.

7. Yes, Big Media is ravenous ... for Obama!
I think the only talking head who hasn't kissed BO's ring is Bill O.

The thing that makes me the MOST uncomfortable with Obama is how VERY comfortable the Mainstream Media seems to be with him.

You can't receive the overt endorsements of every TV journalist and most major newspapers unless (A)they want you to win because you are in the tank for them ... or (B) they are setting you up like a fattened goose for slaughter once the REAL competition is out of the way. Either one is unacceptable to me.

The MSM HATES Hillary. That's how I know I'm right to support her.

Obama's people can love and trust the mainstream media if they want. That only reaffirms my belief that they are being duped.

It'd be nice to keep that poisonous atmosphere out of our other forums, wouldn't it?

3. Thank you Bill. You speak with clarity and tell the truth.

Bill Moyers spoke on Friday before 3,500 at the opening of the National Conference on Media Reform in Memphis. He announced his return to the airwaves and outlined his vision of media reform. "As ownership gets more and more concentrated, fewer and fewer independent sources of information have survived in the marketplace; and those few significant alternatives that do survive, such as PBS and NPR, are under growing financial and political pressure to reduce critical news content and to shift their focus in a mainstream direction, which means being more attentive to establishment views than to the bleak realities of powerlessness that shape the lives of ordinary people."

4. Can you say "Bill Moyers, FCC Chairman?" Or...
"Bill Moyers, Presidential Cabinet Member?"

Or

"Bill Moyers, Head of PBS?"

I WONDER if the next President, hopefully a Democrat, will have sufficient courage/perspicacity/integrity to use Bill Moyers, a Precious Natural Resource of these United States, in a capacity where he will be able to do the most good?

Would Obama do it?

Would Clinton do it?

I think it's safe to assume that if John 'Grampa Munster' McCain wins the idea is right out.

Where can I find a complete broadcast of this speech please? And thank you so much for posting it.

He served as Deputy Director from 1962-63. When Johnson took office after the Kennedy assassination, Moyers became a special assistant to Johnson, serving from 1963–1967."

He played a key role in organizing and supervising the 1964 Great Society legislative task forces and was a principal architect of Johnson's 1964 presidential campaign.

When Walter Jenkins resigned from Johnson's staff in October 1964, Moyers became the President's informal chief of staff until 1966. From July 1965 to February 1967, he also served as White House Press Secretary."
