Honestly, I'm not worried about a single GOP '08 runner |

Not until Chuck Hagel steps into the ring - then I will start worrying.

1. EVERY DEmocrat looks great till the corpmedia drumbeat creates storylines damning them. |
|
EVERY Republican looks like a goon till the corpmedia drumbeat creates storylines promoting them.

Makes people like DeLay look like chump change. If only the M$M worked for the people and not for money.

3. If it were the popular vote that mattered then I would agree, but |
|
As long as the electoral vote is what counts, Im still very hesitant.

4. That is why you should worry about Hagel, more than the other clowns. |
|
Maybe he won't run, to hot right now to steal another election. Dunno, but he should be watched.

Chuck controls who counts the votes, Rudy just has 911 to live off of and people are getting tired of his act.

5. Right now the strategy is to keep Newtie on the sidelines |
|
until Gore announces, then run him against Gore.
Newtie is the best they've got. Sad, isn't it?
Until then, the best they can offer is Fred Thompson playing Reagan.

7. I'm worried about what happens after the next election - if there is one. |
|
These criminals gotta know they are going to go down faster than boulders over a cliff if the Democrats get a veto proof majority and/or an reasonably honest Democratic president.

9. Operative phrase..."if there is one" |
|
I have no doubt there will be some tragic stunt pulled that will allow * to institute martial law.
He hasn't used the signing statements for nothing.
We may well have already witnessed the last "election" in the USA. I certainly hope I'm wrong, but.............

8. I suggest you google the Reagan election to see where you're wrong. |
|
I'm old enough to remember all the Dems saying "He's a damn actor, no political experience, and doesn't stand a chance!"
Take a look at history and see just how wrong THAT judgement was!
I think our worst opponent is going to be Fred. Lots of Pubs are going to see him as Reagan redux!

Hated to see it, hated Ronny with a vengeance.
Yeah Fred and Mitt are the two to watch, IF Chuck doesn't get into the race - if he does, he will be our next POTUS.

20. Rex, I'm not willing to say he will be our next POTUS, but I think he well |
|
could be the Pub candidate!
Freddie is not quite the clean angelic candidatte the media is making him out to be. He has skelitons in his closet as do all politiccal candidates. It will be a tough fight, but I still think the Dems will win!

I remember the GOP hasn't a brain. They will bury this fella, but good. And it's at that party's detriment. Stoopid.
I thought Hagel was thinking third party? Anyone?

Repugs won't vote for an antiwar candidate. Maybe if he runs as an independent he could end up being a spoiler candidate, but he has no chance whatsoever of winning the Repug nomination.

19. Well that is what makes him dangerous, he has brains. |
|
The antiwar candidate that might win in '08 could be a GOP. Dems are not guaranteed that voting block in 2008, not if they are not showing how they are fighting against Bush and the GOP and trying to bring the military home. Some are and should watch Chuck because he is antiwar too.
People in this country are fickle. Question is who would run with him?

21. Who would run with him? Why, a bazillionaire, that's who--the one |
|
who invited him out to dinner (Bloomberg). I think they are just trying to figure out how to run--Indy, "R" or Unity '08. Considering that other Repub Senators are now acknowledging that the WH will have to start drawing down the war come September, the one guy who was right all along might start to look pretty good to Repubs, and if he doesn't, he can mess things up by going third-party. But I'm pretty sure he'd lose to a Dem either way. There will be added voting-machine scrutiny with him in the race, besides.
