Some Democrats would really impress me if they can show condemnation for Jefferson, and still show backbone against whatever tricks Rove & co. have in store.

Every time they are asked to condemn Jefferson (and they should, loudly and often) they should say...

There is no place for people like Jefferson AND (insert corrupt Republican here...)

Don't let them limit the conversation to Jefferson. EVER.

Honesty. Ethical behavior. No self-dealing. Do not give even the appearance of impropriety.

Interestingly, my Republican friends are surprised that I don't cut any slack for my Democratic colleagues. Actually, I probably expect even more of them.
