2. Really? He said that?
Someone should point out that, among others, his mother is a primate.

5. Yes, he said...

Another of the candidates, the former governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, was asked about a statement in an earlier debate in California in which he revealed he did not believe in evolution.

He replied that God created the world, "whether God did it in six days or whether he did it in six days that represented periods of time." People who want to believe they are "descendants of a primate," that's fine.

Edited on Wed Jun-06-07 09:17 PM by nam78_two
crazy ones in that bunch. Granted it is only because I knew next to nothing about him and he seemed ok (for a Repig. that is) the one time I saw him on TDS and he is one the few Republicans I have ever seen who didn't choke when saying the word "environment". But in that first debate his true insanity came through loud and clear :wow:.

Huckabee chooses to be a smuck, that is the stupidest part. I think we actually branched off at around a bear type animal.

K: Animalia
P: Chordata

We're defined as primates. Arguing that we weren't descended from primates is like arguing that we weren't descended from hominids. It's also like arguing that the heart pumps ketchup. It's wrong, period.

28. I hear it all the time
Along with people who don't know the difference between apes and monkeys. (Hint: we're apes -- and Linnaeus, an ardent creationist, defined us as that.)

It is, however, fun when some moron tries to convince me evolution is wrong and starts, "so you really believe you descended from a monkey?" To which I say "of course not. Do you even know what a monkey is?"

30. ...spider monkeys are great...
If I could choose my species (and still live my life with all its perks :-)) I'd like to be a spider monkey. Handy fifth "hand", not to mention third and fourth.

Legs and feet are overrated imo. Imagine multi-tasking with two Ninetendo DS!
