LOL - Mike Huckabee eviscerated at Happy Jihad\'s House of Pancakes.
\"You want to save my soul, Mikey? How important is this issue to you? I\'ll give you the chance. Take the patented Happy Jihad Evolution Challenge. We cut your hand and infect it with a bacterium that we know easily responds to a certain antibiotic -- we\'ll test it in a godless little petri dish and everything, if you like. You take 1/3 of the full course of antibiotics and let it get reinfected. Then you take the next third and we let that infection flare up again. We go through this, each treatment is an equivalent dose of the same antibiotic for, say, two years. You take no other antibiotics for the entire time, and we keep the entire region otherwise sterile. If you still have an arm at the end of the test, I will not only happily cast my vote for you, but I will attend the church of your choice daily for the rest of my natural life.

My faith is strong, Mike. How\'s yours?\"

Now that is some potent ridicule!

1. Most enjoyable thing I've read all day.
I cannot stand that self-righteous little jackass. To think that the people of Arkansas elected both he AND Bill Clinton makes my head hurt.

At one point even protecting the children of some illegal immigrants (Wait until THAT comes out..)

But it's no surprise he has turned into "Extra Super Duper Rightwing Nutjob" to appease the nutty conservative base.

3. Why are we making fun of a man for his religious beliefs?
This is wrong. It's what I expect of the other side.

5. Have you ever read anything by Kierkegaard?
I don't think you're looking at the question properly. Rather you're calling someone stupid for holding particular religious beliefs.

6. It's not a religious belief.
When you say that humans are not descended from/are primates, you're making a statement regarding biology, and are in fact wrong, and deserve to be made fun of.

8. So if someone is wrong, he should be made fun of
I always thought it was rude and mean to make fun of people for their ignorance.

10. What do you say to them...
When they maintain their ignorance in the light of evidence?

BTW, are you calling Huckabee ignorant? Is that better than stupid? What if they are shown to be wrong by overwhelming evidence? They can't still claim to be ignorant. They have graduated to stupid! But that's not politically correct. So let's go for "intellectually challenged." Is that a good qualification to be the "leader of the free world?"

Trolling.

Which is probably one of the more idiotic conditions of a Freeper. Wasting your time pretending you're someone you're not on a message board. Why are they so desperate for attention do you think? Is it a mental deficiency or is mom not giving them enough attention?

15. Define "Ignorance"
It's one thing to not anything about a subject...like molecular biology or ancient Druid traditions...and then ridicule for not knowing is, as you state, unwarranted.

However, when you are discussing an issue which has been proven with scientific fact...and that fact is broadly taught and you then choose to ignore the facts...then expect ridicule from those who can't understand how a "reasonable" person couldn't accept the facts and still ignore the science.

The issue also is what is faith and where the line should be drawn. If Huckabee wants to believe in the invisible cloud being that created everything in 7 days...so be it. That's his FAITH...and the word means a personal belief, not a political doctrine. The fact that Repugnicans are still fighting the Scopes Monkey trial over 80 years after the fact shows how backward thinking and inclusive they are...and that shouldn't be ridiculed, it should be kept out of control of our government.

9. You think substituting a more neutral word for "stupid" changes anything?
My friend's daughter, does not believe in atoms. On her, it is cute. If she was running for president, it would be stupid. Does it make it better to use words like "misguided" or "clueless." How about "sucker" or "dupe?"

If somebody turns over their worldly fortunes for ownership of the Brooklyn Bridge, because they sincerely wanted to believe the seller, and they ignored the evidence to the contrary, what would you call that? Presidential?

What word does Kierkegaard use for people who believe things that have been shown to be false?

22. There are...
There are stupid people who believe in evolution, and there are intelligent people who believe in creationism. I believe in both. Does that mean I'm stupid?

The President isn't in charge of what's taught in schools.

I perfectly agree that creationism shouldn't be taught in biology classes (though it wouldn't hurt to teach high school kids in a separate class about Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and Buddhism in a philosophical context).

I just don't get it why you have be so vitriolic about it.

There are plenty of reasons to criticize Huckabee (he supports replacing the income tax with a sales tax that includes food and basic necessities), but I just can't sympathize with what you're saying here.

23. Ignorance of science is not a virtue of the President of the US in this era.
It's really not.

One can believe in whatever god or gods they like, but to deny established science is simply a flaw in an executive.

29. I'm saying that policy shouldn't be guided by superstition.
You and I agree about what should be taught. Huckabee and other Christians are against us. They don't want comparative religion classes.

Vitriolic is your term. I would say I am adamantly against teaching that the universe was created in six days 5000 years ago. What do you say to a student who asks which of these religions is true? How do you avoid discussing that people devoutly believe things that aren't true?

I'm curious. What do you say to a student who asks if creationism is true?

The President isn't in charge of what's taught in schools.

So, I guess he had nothing to do with No Child Left Behind, and that has no influence on what is being taught? When you invite a NASA scientist to a school to discuss the climate change, are you getting the truth there?

There may be intelligent people who believe in creationism. This means they are articulate in expressing their stupidity. Intelligent -- maybe, but not smart. Ancient ignorances such as astrology, alchemy, and creationism should be taught. They are examples of how wrong we can be in our beliefs.

7. It's not his religious beliefs - it's his absolute ignorance of science.
If he was running on a sickness-is-caused-by-demons-so-we-can-defund-healthcare position, would we have to respect that as well?

that make him ignorant to science.
The ever shrinking god is now so small it can dance on the head of a pin which is why idiots like this must deny irrefutable scientific evidence in favor if faith in fairy tales.
