I'm no Blitzer fan, but this is something:
I almost feel like sending him a note of congrats for seeing the light, but this is the tact all the 'news' channels should have taken without encouragement.

CNN’s Blitzer says no to Paris frenzy.

On Thursday, a CNN anchor proudly described the network as “the most trusted name in Paris news.” But on Friday, CNN host Wolf Blitzer made a decision to not join in on the media frenzy. The Washington Times’s Inside the Beltway reports:

During his daily production meeting on Friday — the same day that the young California socialite was “taken handcuffed and crying from her home,” “escorted into court disheveled, without makeup, hair askew and face red with tears,” “crying out for her mother when she was ordered back to jail,” a “little girl lost in a merciless legal system” — Mr. Blitzer vowed that during that afternoon’s entire news program, he would not bring himself to utter two words: Paris Hilton.

“And he didn’t,” a CNN producer tells Inside the Beltway.

1. He didn't. Others did.
And the "news" scroll at the bottom of the screen was 50% PH.

2. Of course not
It would get in the way of catapulting the propaganda

3. He made the right call AND he made a point of leaking a PR story about him doing so
Blitzer is in the infotainment business. Substance is only a gimmick to CNN. So while I applaud Blitzer avoiding this Hilton idiocy, remember that he sent out one of his producers to let it be known just how "above it all" his journalistic integrity truly was.

4. LOL, the only reason he didn't want to mention her is because
she is a reminder of another "trust fund" screw up, george bush, and Blitzer doesn't want to remind the public of that, imo.

5. OMG. I was hoping that Blitzkrieg would have announced
something that would have REALLY mattered. I was disappointed.

10. Ha! He saw Cafferty put his foot down about that "Best political team" BS
and decided he wanted to refuse to do something, too. Next Dana Bash will decide to breathe in between sentences so she doesn't have to sound breathless.
