Is this cartoon going too far?
Just want an opinion from the DU masses. I just finished this strip for 6/25, which would start off a week-long storyline.

Before I finish the rest of the strips and submit them for publication, I have to ask...does it go too far?

1. I think it is excellent!
Nails more than one issue all in one go. Well done, imo.

5. Good to know.
I don't get political in the strip that often, but these ridiculous "terra plots" have me annoyed beyond belief.

7. In a World of GOP Excess, Nothing Goes Too Far
But even in sane days, this wouldbe totally inoffensive, funny, and unfortunately, true.

8. Not close to any line
Frankly, I'm disappointed. I was anticipatiing a sexual reference or a Hitler comparison -- something that I might consider to be over the line or that would at least present an interesting question.

This strip is funny but well within the bounds of acceptability. Go with it.

10. It's the DHS Death Star
It's a commentary on the flimsiness of evidence in the last few "terra" alerts.

12. It's a joke.

The overbearing police-state machinery of DHS portrayed as the Evil Empire's superweapon from Star Wars. The fact that it is small, rather than "the size of a small moon" makes it even funnier.

The overall comic is mildly amusing - hardly over the line. Could be a bit more biting, but the Death Star is the highlight.

It might be funny if the death star had on a Dick Tracy hat and a badge, rather than the DHS seal - I dunno.

Cute, in a kind of Monty Python meets Tom Tomorrow vein.

13. Thanks for the explanation
I don't remember the superweapon from Star Wars. But, the comic is cute.
