Poll question: Which is the best progressive/liberal magazine? |
|
Edited on Mon Jun-18-07 06:23 PM by Heaven and Earth
I'm bored, and I was reading Eric Alterman's piece on the downfall of the New Republican (heh, I'm leaving the freudian slip in there, even though I meant New Republic) in the American Prospect. That got me thinking about the different liberal/progressive magazines that are out there, and I'm wondering which you all think is the best, by whatever criteria you choose to measure that.

3. The Nation for politics and Harpers for the broader spectrum. |

I like Mother Jones for the labor perspective.

12. Money where mouth is I guess: We subscribe to Harpers and The Nation |
|
Where we write the check pretty much casts our vote as to which is the best - at least if Adam Smith was right.

My only beef with the Nation is its articles are too short. They just scratch the surface and start to get interesting and then they're over. Harpers does a much better job of providing a forum for reporting and ideas that deserve lengthy discussion.
