Prayer is offered by many as a solution to problems. This creates a problem by distracting the person from seeking real solutions to the problems they face. Faith healers are the worst of this lot because they can quite literally cost someone their life. If they seek out prayer instead of treatment their life can be placed in extreme jeopardy.

We build lighthouses instead of prayer citadels to keep ships safe at sea because prayer doesn't work as well as lighthouses do.
