of your computer, got to http://www.netflix.com/WatchNowMovie?movieid=70058892&trkid=203072 (if you have a Netflix account), fast-forward to about 56 minutes, and show them who was fighting for them.

Then ask them if they'd vote for any of those people trying to get comments on the record, or for the guy slamming the gavel trying to get them to shut up.

2. Maxed Out
(Try hitting the link again after you've logged in?)

The film raises a good question about hypocrisy in another scene.

You know how Republicans always say they have to cut social welfar programs because of a "fiscal straightjacket"? Well, when the debt limit was imposing a fiscal straightjacket on Bush's ability to fund American Imperialism in Iraq, he just raised the debt limit by $800 Billion.

4. I'd love to watch it, but Netflix "Watch Now" is only compatible with PCs -
My iMac does not run Windows or Windows Vista so I cannot download the software that would let me watch.

Bush has never, ever been conservative re: military spending. "Conservative" since the days of Reagan means spending profligately on the military and starving programs for citizens.

3. The Dream Of Being Rich...
I know many wealthy (or so they think) Repugnican types. It's amazing how they all still think they're taxed too much and that everyone is out to get their money. Next to them are the ones who ARE out to get their money, but aren't either smart enough or sneaky enough to do it.

The Repugnican's big lie for years was how it was the party of affluence...making wealth and keeping it. What the little guys who bought into it never were told is that this affluence was to be accomplished on their backs, and they'd like it. They'd suck up the easy credit, the sub-prime loans, the day trading, the win at any cost mentality...and have gotten screwed time and time again. Yet, they still believe the big lie...as that's all they've ever heard thus that's all they can believe.

I do know of a former neighbor...he was a Repugnican precinct captain. His job was outsourced and he was forced to sell his home. He was totally unrepentant as to his plight...still blaming Democrats and "illegal immigrants" as the cause of his trouble. Some just can't learn.

6. allure
The allure of the republican party has increasingly become its ability to feed on its members' insecurity. People fear declining economic prospects, but at least they can say they're republicans, so tey couldn't be total trash. As more and more is taken from them, they more zealously cling to this republican identity, which is their only hope for empowerment and the impression of social mobility.
