B.S. Gesture: "House Dems to DOJ Whistleblowers: Send Us Your Tips"

Please recommend both the diary and here so that more people can help force them to allow them to testify before Congress. These are impeachable offences not yet placed in the record!

Dear Congress,

With all due respect, you already know who we are. You've known about many of us for five years now. So if you want to give flesh to your empty gesture of urging people to blow the whistle (something for which they have been punished unmercifully without your intervention or protection), call on us.

This is only a small partial list,expanded below, that I urge Kos readers to add to:

It's hard to imagine what a few more whistleblowers could possibly add to the already mountainous evidence about DOJ's politicized hiring and firing, but I will get such a list up. I urge Kossacks to ask Congress on their special little page to "protect whistleblowers" why they've not called upon us to testify: http://judiciary.house.gov/...

1. Some whistleblowers are just whistling in the wind.

But politicians have to pretend to be doing something about it. I've come to accept some like Sibel will have to live with the injustice and betrayals (though like a fool, I keep trying to get her a venue).

2. We need to push Congress into doing more!

4. I'm finding there's too much collusion

and too much money being passed around.

at the performance of our congress.
Hollow, formless, spineless, toothless and directionless. As though less is more.
It is the perfect answer to the bush admin - which is also hollow, but evil.

The ratings our congress have earned is well deserved. I expected something more. I was wrong.

you are so right. they are pretending to do something. Not all of them, Conyers, Waxman, etc., but most others.

5. I've hit a brick wall from Waxman concerning Sibel (despite earlier promises

to her).

7. It can't be about luck. WE have to do what this person said:

I'm just as steamed as Jesselyn is.

We need a FOCUSED calling, faxing, and letter writing campaign. We each need to decide we have had enough and from this point on CALL, WRITE, FAX every single day.

Make a commitment to get 300 people doing this each day. And we need to make a commitment for those people to each add 300 to their list too.

We're talking about the snowball effect. It's what the anti-choice and extremest Republicans do every single day.

They don't take, "I'm busy" as an answer. Find ways to make it simple for people. HAND them your cell phone and dial the number for them if you have to turn on their activism switch. MAKE a call in front of them so that they see how simple it is.

Frankly...this is important for the whistleblowers, but we need to do this for out of Iraq and Impeachment too.

THEY NEED TO HEAR FROM US--each of us with our groups--every single day.

8. Boy have I done that.

I have my letters and faxes saved on my computer. I've tried all sorts of wording. I've faxed, sent emails, made calls. I need to develop some other sort of strategy. I need to keep trying different people, just not the ones I first thought would be the best bet.

9. Talk to everyone you see...get them involved too.

I know...I help many of the whistleblowers and it's hard even getting the media to be fair.

10. Even the campaigns where a lot of people did it at the same time

on her behalf have been met with silence. I need to find an ally for her in Congress. I'm currently working that angle. Whenever lukery calls for multi people action, I've always participated in that as well.
