Hmm...London *police* foil plot, but we need new, mega-bureaucracy DHS |
|
Obviously I don't have details of intelligence sharing etc. But all the articles and spokespeople today are referencing metro force it seems.
Whatever the truth about today, I think this is telling. The message seems to be that metro cops trained up--or just doing their jobs--are capable. And as disconcerting as our expensive, big government, rights-reducing approach here in the states is, the notion that some overly-partitioned, stovepiped approach may actually leave us less nimble than before is what: Absurd? Sad? Evidence of malfeasance? Evidence of mass delusion?

2. It wasn't really 'foiling' a plot |

They made safe a home-made bomb that had already apparently failed to detonate properly, and another that may not even have got as far as that. The first people to notice something wrong were ambulance personnel.

3. You knew they would react with the obstruction of more rights of Americans |

The 3 ounces of shit an a quart baggie when flying is based on something that happened in England. It is easy to have these amazingly foiled terror plots overseas where Americans are not witness and use the threat to impose more restrictions right here in America.
They will have to accelerate this process in order to have no civil liberties left by Nov 08.
