Cross posted to it's own thread- Dick Cheney, incapacitated.
Dick Cheney has had a stroke.
Possibly more than one, so
why won't people say the obvious?

How do I know? I have had a stroke that affected some of the same areas of my brain.
I have the same slack right side of my face, and my left side muscles work harder
to make the right corner of my mouth droop less.
My scalp muscles also compensate for my eyebrow and drooping right eyelid, so I have a pattern of slack
and spastic muscles quite similar to Dick's

I have real problems with emotional laibility and I CANNOT HANDLE STRESS. Not at all.
I have to spend a fair amount of time alone in a quiet room, because I get overstimulated.

Watching Dick is like watching a reflection of myself, all the way down to the slouch.
Dick Cheney is incapacitated. I would not trust myself at this point to run a lemonaide stand
I have too many mental and physical problems. I, like Dick have had a couple heart attacks.

I say it again. I do not believe Dick Cheney is still competent to handle the office of VP.
Will someone please supeona his medical records like Kline does to teenage girls?
I think a hunk of his thalmus is dead, and who knows what else. Thrombii often travel in packs.

And even if Dick doesn't think so, he is not thinking clearly. I know, I have days when I cant either.
For Gods' sake, get him into retirement or he is going to kill himself, and possibly the rest of us.

1. Sorry
I don't like this any more than Bill Frist diagnosing Terri Schiavo via video.

Sometimes a sneer is just a sneer.

an adult survivor of F.L.K.S.
But let's get him checked out just in case.

16. Sorry to offend you.
I feel I have a legitimate right to express this opinion.
Dick Cheney is a public figure and de-facto dictator of the formerly free world.

The exigency IMO, makes begging the question of his capacity quite relevant.

17. Sure you have a right to express an opinion
as I have a right to say it's dumb to try to diagnose medical conditions via video.

22. He has had four heart attacks, that we know of, the first at age 38.
He has a defibrillator implanted in his chest. God knows what medications he must be on. He is incapacitated just on that basis, let alone whatever illnesses he's suffered that they're not telling us about. You don't think the most secretive VP in history would be volunteering to tell us about his current medical condition. I think this post is very relevant. I think he's medically unfit, and has been for some time. I think his heart condition has left him paranoid and depressed, and led to the destructive path he's taken us on.

You think his decisions have been sound and rational?

29. Being wrong
doesn't make him a stroke victim.

And I repeat that it's stupid to try to diagnose someone via video. Do you even have a medical degree?

4. What about Bell's Palsy?
I, fortunately, recovered the use of the half of my face that would not move for several months, but not everybody does. And when I tried to smile, I snarled - much like Dick.

18. It might be explained by Bells palsy
we saw a lot of it after the swine flu vacine problem in the late 70s.

But when you had it, were you emotionally unstable? Did you tend to hide from public contact and stimulating environments? Cheney does, so do I.

I think this is more than a viral or auto immune involvment of cranial nerves. I think our Veep is mentally affected.

Remember that Cheney has has cardiac proceedures among whose most common side effects is stroke.

The consequenses of not asking this question far outweigh the consequenses of doing so.

accentuated by age.

19. I have seen old pix.
When did his cardiac disease start?

I cannot diagnose. I am not an M.D.
But looking at the spectrum of factors, I cannot help but wonder how Dick's brain is working these days.

23. He had his first heart attack in 1978.
http://archives.cnn.com/2001/HEALTH/06/29/cheney.chronology/

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- Vice President Dick Cheney's history of heart problems started in 1978, when the 37-year old suffered his first of four heart attacks. Cheney's health has been put under the national spotlight since his last heart attack a few weeks after the 2000 presidential election.

A summary of Cheney's heart problems:

1978 : Dick Cheney suffers his first heart attack. The incident does not sideline Cheney, as the former White House chief of staff wins the first of five terms to Congress that same year.

1984 : Cheney suffers another attack while serving as Wyoming's lone U.S. representative. Doctors consider the heart attack minor, like the 1978 incident, and Cheney soon heads back to work, eventually representing the Republicans as minority whip in the House.

1988 : An attack in August -- Cheney's third before his 48th birthday -- leads to quadruple bypass surgery. But the congressman's condition stabilizes throughout the 1990s, with no official reports of health problems. He has his last comprehensive heart check-up in 1996, not to have another one for four years.

November 22, 2000 : With the presidential election hanging on a few hundred votes in Florida, Cheney checks into George Washington University Hospital with chest pains. Doctors insert a coronary stent to prop open a narrowed artery after what Cheney calls "a very slight heart attack." Doctors say Cheney should be able to resume all his normal activities.

March 5, 2001 : Cheney checks himself into George Washington University Hospital with chest pain and discomfort. The vice president undergoes an "urgent" procedure to re-open the blocked heart artery treated in November, returning home after an overnight stay. With advisers saying his heart has not been damaged, Cheney soon resumes his busy schedule. (Read more on Cheney's March hospitalization)

30. Remember after the SOTU speech....
a couple of commentators made a big deal out of how often Pelosi blinked? The fact that Cheney blinked only once every few minutes was of much more concern to me. He looked like he was in a stupor.
