Build the thing to critical mass and then demand they resign - just like they did with Nixon.

Bush has been chosen by god, after all. :eyes: Not even Nixon's ego was that massive.
And since when has Bush listened to anything The People have said? "I'm the President, I'm the President, I'm the President"! Bush, not understanding a whit of American or Constitutional history, actually believes that gives him the right to do anything he pleases. He equates the Presidency and a Dictatorship as being one in the same.
We're dealing with an extremely stupid man here.

17. We would need Republicans' votes |
|
So please explain to me how any given Republican would choose impeachment, but not support their party in forcing Bush/Cheney to resign. That's how it happened with Nixon. He was bonkers too.

30. We call for impeachment |
|
and half the country digs their heals in and makes it an issue. We scream RESIGN, and half the country says, hell yeah, that's a great idea.
Which is exactly what happened with the war. When reasonable heads came out with a reasonable disengagement plan, America got on board.
What is it about rational solutions that the left misses every single time.

40. The Republicans of Nixon's era.... |
|
had at least an iota of honor to country. The Bush Republicans are committed to party over country at all costs. They will not turn on Bush and vote for impeachment because that would "hurt the party". They could give a damn about this country, it's their party and power they want to preserve.

And I wonder if that's not going to intensify in the wake of Live Earth. After all, Al Gore came out on stage at the beginning, and at the end (what I saw anyway), and the glimpse of him actually made me get teary-eyed. I'll bet there are more than a few people who watched this who are even more fired up about him now, especially if they look at what was foisted upon us instead. There's no comparison. I suspect it will make some people revile bush even more. It doesn't take much of a leap to reach the thought - "GOD, what we COULD have had..." We would NOT be in the mess we're in now. And we'd still be standing tall in the eyes of the rest of the world.
