A talking point Dem's put out on Iraq debate |
|
It is troubling that Republican leadership would filibuster a debate on the most important issue facing the country: the war in Iraq. President Bush is escalating the war against the opposition of a bipartisan majority in Congress, his own military commanders, and overwhelming majority of Americans. ESCALATING THE WAR WILL NOT MAKE THE COUNTRY SAFER. Republicans owe it to the American people to allow this debate.
In my opinion no more talk cut off the funding

1. Yep, all apprpriations start in the House. No apppropriation, no money. |
|
And the House has no filibuster.
The house could pass line item apprpriations.
On bill at a time.
No funding for Iraq.

I have started to wonder why the Repukes are against any resolution to end this farce? Are they that completely loyal to Bush that they would sacrifice the lives of our military personnel to prove it, or do some of these "patriotic" men and women have a financial stake in perpeptual war?
The American people are mostly against this exercise in death and destruction, and yet the Repukes in Congress, or at least the majority of them have ignored their own constituents call for an end to it.
Just what does motivate the Repukes to keep spending lives and money???
