And Now ABC News Has Some Apologizing To Do Re: No Impt Names On Madam's Tel List....
There needs to be a massive letter writing, tel calling, email sending campaign directed at ABC News for intentionally misleading the public and being directly involved in the coverup of Sen Vitter(R-LA) being on the D.C. Madam's list.

To me what ABC News did harmed a lot more people than what Vitter did behind closed doors.

ABC News needs to come clean ... did the corporate parent squelch the story?

There is nothing more to say. Damn, send in questions asking why they did not release the names of the politicos like Vitter for one!

6. We need to really put the pressure on Brian Ross to come clean....
His credibility is inexorably linked to ABC News actions in this matter.

If he knew that ABC News was killing a legitimate story and he went along, IMHO he deserves to be condemned from here to next Thursday.

How else are we going to force the MSM to reclaim even a shred of credibility?

Shame ... shame .... shame on ABC News. That is the big story.

24. I hear he busted his ass sideways trying to get a full story done and
they killed it higher up. he's as unhappy as anyone. consider the scoop now that he could have sprung and they didn't allow it. It will be in the news and the idiots in charge of abc will play catch up as well as explain how they let this go after harrying Clinton for sneezing, etc.

9. And Nightline comes on, no mention of Sen Vitter whatsoever....
I guess proof that they torpedoed a legitimate corruption story and ruined their own credibility is not 'breaking news.'

If they are not going to address it, the other media outlets should be 'trashing' them to high heaven --or they are not doing their job, and deserve to be condemned as well.

Basically they LIED to the American People. Now they have been exposed. Period.

I have full faith that Brian Ross wanted to do this story, and I think he probably had an uncensored version that contained this information, but the management types at ABC are a bunch of connie sympathizers, and that's why this story had the kibosh put on it.

13. That is the point ... Ross's reputation was sullied if he participated knowing the truth...
If you are a journalist and you participate in an intentional misleading of the public when you know the truth, then you deserve all the scorn the public can heap on you. And saying it was the corporate managers who are to blame is not totally accurate.

Ross should have refused to be a part of the 'lying to the public.' Then the public would have noticed and asked questions. This way he was part of the the conspiracy.

14. I'll go further... Ross should have threatened to resign if ABC News did this...
... and after they did it, he should have resigned.

He would have been picked up by another News Organization, and likely received some kind of award for living out the ethics of journalism.

17. At the ABC News Website, they reprint the AP story ... that is all....
If they have any conscience at all at ABC News they must feel like they have been caught with their hand in the proverbial cookie jar.

And so far, ABC News' response is ..... SILENCE.

18. MSM News has been abdicating their journalistic role in support of Bush for 6 yrs
There should be massive outrage among posters here that ABC News has finally been exposed engaging in this despicable practice.

If we do not hold the MSM accountable when they have been caught redhanded, we can expect more of the same in the future.

22. Most likely they will plead ignorance --"We didn't know....."
But if there are names of other Congressmen and Administration officials in the D.C. Madame's telephone logs, they are not going to be able to make that fly.

Is that why they are remaining silent?

28. Has Anyone Heard ABCNews Comment on its role in hiding Sen Vitter's name?
This has to be a huge elephant in the ABC Newsroom ... how to address and spin their obvious killing of this story when they were in the unique early position to reveal the truth.

THe longer they wait, the more attention it should get ....

30. Any way you look at it the outrage against ABC News should dwarf Vitter's indiscretion....
Besides showing his hypocrisy, is anyone really surprised that Sen Vitter was having an affair or sexual romps described as massages?

There should be a groundswell of support for protests against ABC News --they got publicly exposed killing a legitimate story and engaging in a conspiracy to mislead the American people.

If they are going to outright lie about provable facts then they need to lose their FCC licenses.

33. Here is ABC News Explanation per Rawstory.,....
"I think we said at the time, and I can certainly say now that if a member of Congress or a United State Senator had come up on the list, and we were able to confirm that, we would have absolutely reported that," said Jeffrey Schneider, an ABC News spokesman, in a Tuesday morning phone interview with RAW STORY.

Schneider told RAW STORY that ABC News's Investigative team, led by award winning reporter Brian Ross, was not working with a full set of records from Palfrey's business.
