I'm a KO person by design and by implementation |
but why does he get so silly in his show, it takes away from my argument to say to friends and strangers to watch his show because I've had this very thing thrown in my face. wtf
I hope I'm not being to vague here, ok

1. I know - a sense of humor is so annoying! |
That's part of his charm IMHO.

6. A good sense of humor is a big deal to me |
I like being able to get the serious news and some goofy stuff too. Balance is a good thing.

4. Keith's show is in two parts -- hard core news, and pop culture crapola. |
I watch the late version at midnight, and tune out at 12:30.

5. It's not always that easy to separate the two. |
As for me, I LIKE silly mixed with my serious. It makes the news easier to handle for some people. The important stuff still comes across between the laughs.

I'd wonder if part of the deal is simply coming up with something original. On MSNBC every night you've got Tucker (which I never watch) Hardball, Countdown, and now they have Abrams' show after Keith. He needs to do something out of the ordinary, and you've got to admit he does that. I love KO. He is good for my stress level.

9. I certainly have no trouble with the humor he interjects in his news segments. |
And the levity in his Worst Person in the World, Keeping Tabs, Oddball -- it's just his style. And has been since his days at ESPN.

12. I hear ya, madokie. I think he's so unusual for TV news that he takes some getting used to. |
We're all familiar with his humor, his schtick, but a new viewer, I think, might have to settle into it, and get used to the whole of the show and a whole different deal. I think most difficult for a new viewer would be the speaking in different voices, which I still sometimes find a bit over the top.
