SO what do you think the attack will be?
I think that whatever it is, we better be ready with torches and pitchforks.
I'm thinking nuclear on the West Coast. I'm thinking Iran will be blamed. I'm thinking Bush will invoke those new rules where he supercedes Congress.
I'm thinking that if impeachment doesn't start happening in the next few DAYS, then we will have crossed the Rubicon.

1. I think that whatever it is, it may be coupled with the bottoming out of the
markets. I am not expert, but all this seems to be converging this week, neh?

4. The jig is up
They needed to privatize Social Security to prop the markets up.
That didn't happen.
It's all gonna come crashing down.
But whatever it is, it is going to be sooner than later.

5. Well ask yourself this
Do you really think George Bush really cares if we know what Miers, Rove, et al knows?
He doesn't give ten shits.
He is just stalling for time--and for that, you really have to ask why is he stalling?
He is waiting for everything to be in place.
And why does everything seem to be rushing in on the "terra" threats all of the sudden?

7. I think, if that happened, it would cause far more economic destruction than they could withstand
You're talking LA, San Francisco, the Bay Area, Seattle, etc. The country would never recover from
one of its primary economic engines (California) being taken out.

If they strike anywhere, it'll be in an economically poor area. But while I think Cheney can and
will do anything to advance himself, I think there are enough people around him who would have to be
involved and would scream bloody murder.

Not going to happen.

13. The doomsayers have been painting this scenario for four years now
Didn't happen then, isn't going to happen now.

Everyone from one side of the government to the other would scream if it did happen.
Everyone who knew about it. Economic chaos would result.

The GOP, at the end, really only cares about one thing -- money.

If it's not this type of prediction, it's the imminent attack on Iran that's is going to happen monthly since 2003.

If all these predictions of attacks on our country were accurate, why haven't we had any attacks?

18. What is "odd" is that the CDC shut down Texas A&M's research into biological weapons
Edited on Wed Jul-11-07 12:09 AM by Horse with no Name
this week because of unreported breeches (that happened while Gates was still over Texas A&M).
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headline/metro/4939518.html

>>>snip
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suspended A&M's research on regulated toxins or microbes, known as "select agents," on Saturday after the university failed to immediately report the exposure of researchers to two of the agents last year.

The decision marks the first time the Atlanta-based agency has moved to halt all research on select agents at a university or other facility, pending an inspection. The CDC previously has ordered the temporary closure of selected laboratories, but not entire facilities, said CDC spokesman Von Roebuck.

In notifying A&M of the decision, CDC officials questioned whether the university meets safety and security standards and provides proper administrative oversight.

The CDC also threatened to revoke A&M's authority to research the biological agents if campus officials fail to cooperate with investigators.

26. No attack ...
... but the last-minute thwarting of an alleged attack.

An actual "attack" would undermine the entire fighting over there so we don't have to fight 'em here and this administration has kept the country safe since 9-11 crapola.

No, something HUGH!1! that was about to occur were it not for the swift and decisive action of Chertoff and other administration-linked individuals.

ENDLESS MSM coverage of the near-miss, with the attendant media bells and whistles. The "See, WE are the party that's strong on national defence" propaganda campaign gets a big boost, and no one is talking about impeachment, investigations into WH wrongdoing, Gonzales, etc. for a while.

30. And 6 months later...
...the alleged attackers will all be found not guilty, and the verdict announced on page 12 of the food section of the local paper, in 3 point font, tucked between the ads for preparation H and day old bread at Buford Mcfoodworlds.

No one will ask them for any comment, as all of the "reporters" will be scrambling to interview Anna Nichol's cousin's best friend's ex-wife's 2nd grade gym teacher for the inside scoop on why her baby is now wearing keds instead of buster browns.

Or something...

39. Chertoff says he has a "gut feel" that something is going to
happen this summer. The guy looks dyspeptic, so it may just be gas - but he may know something we peasants don't know. I've figured for a long time that the easiest target would be a mall. We have thousands of them, and an attack on one would scare people away from the rest of them and rip the economy.
