This is a BIG DEAL: Repubs about to filibuster Iraq war resolutions |
|
Edited on Mon Feb-05-07 05:50 PM by adigal
I wonder if they have 40 to avoid the debate.
They sound a little nervous, although Warner and Hagel both will vote against their own resolutions!!! What rubber stamp Republicans!! Bye, bye Republicans!!

To those here that have been commending Hagel for his opposition to the war, please take note of this. :grr:

and said they had fooled me for a few weeks, but now I see they are just tools of Bush, as they are going to filibuter THEIR OWN resolutions!!! WTF!! They are all owned by Bush, and I now see how they hoodwinked the Dems to sign on with them, and then pulled the rug out from under them. Wake up, Dems!!

Does this mean there won't be an "up or down vote"? Boy, if Senator Frist were still around, I'm sure he'd be upset. Shame on them.

Reid: If they stop us from going forward on debate on IRaq, I will be putting a number of amendments about Iraq on the 9/11 bills and the funding requests. They may have gotten their members over there to stop debate on Iraq for now, but we will debate Iraq. We are not going to allow the situation in Iraq to continue. It is wrong.

9. Remember, the republicans left town and left no funding after |
|
February 15th, if they want to pull a Newt Gingrich and defund the government, that is their choice. (I think he is threathening them to allow them to shut down the govt if they do this.)

I am betting a straight party vote, with Holy Joe crossing over. I had better learn to sing "O Canada," I think.

19. And why did they vote against it? |
|
Though I think this non-binding bs is a very poor excuse for the debate we the people deserve - i.e. a BINDING vote...
Why did such the vocal anti-escalation critic Hagel vote against discussing it? Did he provide a rational?
