You guys are real smart -
Edited on Thu Jul-12-07 04:25 AM by Joe for Clark
Ever heard me go off like this - til 2 what ever o'clock in the morning?

Ever??

I am trying my best to tell you something.

Within boundries.

Maybe in 72 hours those things are gone - but maybe we can't wait that long too.

This is so seriously fucked up right now - desperate is a good word -

For god's sake -

In my calculation - I don't think we can afford 72 hours.

Joe

2. I so want to say something and I would be so sorry.
ANd it would be IMO anyway - I suppose.

Look to the NE from that city.

TO those oil fields.

We are scrambling there as I speak.

It is about the money - it always was.

I guess I am cryptic - but I guarantee you I will NEVER be an Geraldo either.

He looked for ratings - and I like the kids - fundamentally different viewpoints.

12. I am sure,
But you really don't do you??

I don't get faxed the "latest" from the Pentagon.

We get emails from the kids unit - where they go and all that. Brigade/ Division.

My parents - my family - they commanded in the other war and I am not them - but I can sure read them that way.

2-3 and 82 divisions ( or elements thereof) are moving to intercept the Turk divisiona now concentrated at the border.

Kind of a fact.

And they intend to fight.

We are soldiers and priests in my family though. We know god and war - you know??

And maybe I am wrong - and I pray to god I am.

Cause if not- we will see the opening hot fire in a third world war.

It is that dire - right now.

How cheerful -

Joe

6. yeah it's fucked up
really fucked up..

it's also maddening and frustrating

Sometimes I'm so pissed off, so frustrated and disgusted all I want to do is find a hole deep in the woods and live there... just cover me over with some branches and I'll be fine...

I'm frustrated by the dems - nothing has changed except the excuses. What I'm seeing is akin to putting up new wallpaper while the house is burning down.

and at the risk of getting flamed - I'm also dismayed by Sheehan's announcement to run against Pelosi. I don't see what good that will do to get bush impeached. Assuming Sheehan mounts a successful campaign and is elected, by the time a new congress is installed bush is outta there anyways.

One thing keeps coming back to me over and over again. It's not evident by large protests, demonstrations or marches - it's the undercurrent of desperation. and it's scary

It's been asked many time - where's the outrage? the outrage is there, it just doesn't have a place to vent. We are essentially leaderless, an army in search of a general. All dressed up and no place to go.

This is evident by the multitude of posts calling for So-n-So for president because a particular person makes 1 statement that we agree on. One soundbite, one photo doesn't qualify a person to lead.

And this is scary because in our desperation for a leader we will follow anyone - good or bad.

Kool-aid comes in more than one flavor.

14. The outrage is not in the streets because it
fizzles out on the Internet.

Basically, the Internet is hindering outrage instead of bundling it. I'm not sure if our "controllers" have foreseen this, but I bet they're quite amused how information society has turned out solely to their advantage.

19. slightly disagree
I don't think the internet is Hindering the outrage, it's more like keeping it bottled

think of it as a can of soda or beer, everyday that can is shaken vigorously - watch out when it's the top is popped - no telling who will get sprayed

27. Then why is it that from the 60s to the 80s
people went into the streets in droves, but nowadays it's usually just a small trickle?

I think it's because in the past the streets were the people's forum, their place to let off steam. Now that we have the Internet, we let off steam on the Internet, in the privacy of our homes, accompanied by a glass of beer or apple juice. Much more comfortable but oh so invisible.

All people's revolutions in the past happened without the Internet being around. I'm from Germany and I'm quite sure there still would be two Germanies if there would have been the Internet around at the end of the 80s. But instead of expressing in elaborate words how miffed they were about things in the communist GDR, a critical mass of human beings showed up on market squares, chanting "WE are the people!". That worked.

31. No more mass protests because...
  1. They are ineffective; without MSM coverage no one knows;

  2. New laws make them difficult to pull off; further erosion of our civil liberties by the use of "free speech" zones;

  3. Protesters end up in FBI databases; no one wants to be on the police "hit list";

The internet(s) will go dark when they are ready to draw the noose closed. If you look at the loss of civil liberties during the last six years it's hard to believe we'll have more liberty in the future.

9. Cryptic
Three possible fronts come to mind:

Disaster in Iraq

Provocative militry action on the border with Iran to try to start another war

or

a domestic attack (faux or real)

any of these three scenarios fitting what you are suggesting we should prepare for?

Call me when 140,000 Turks pour across the border in the next few days, which would be the only thing that could definitively connect your wild speculation about Joe's cryptic meaning to any actual content of Joe's cryptic expressions. For my money, Joe doesn't know a damn thing, but certainly likes to feel important on DU by announcing his super-secret knowledge to suckers who believe him. One born every minute.

Turkey denies its troops entered Iraq
Government refutes officials' claim that army chased Kurds in ‘hot pursuit’

Updated: 5:19 p.m. CT June 6, 2007
ANKARA, Turkey - Turkish troops crossed into northern Iraq early Wednesday to chase Kurdish guerrillas who attack Turkey from bases there, three Turkish security officials said.

Turkey’s foreign minister denied its troops had entered Iraq. However, the senior security officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media, characterized the raid as a “hot pursuit” raid that was limited in scope.

They told The Associated Press it did not constitute the kind of large incursion that Turkish leaders have been discussing in recent weeks.

37. You know Joe I think you are on to something there
the people there, who live there in that region, have had all the US they can stomach just as the Vietnamese had in early '68, tet of '68 was a bloody prelude to the ending of the 'Nam war as this in Iraq is now. To me it looks like a build up on several sides all primarely against us the US Soldiers. After this slaughter thats looking more and more each day like is about to start will be the last straw with the American people but it will be too late for so many lives lost, on both sides. bushco* are stupid if they think they can harbor any presence in the whole region for the forseeable future. The big fortress they're building right now will be left in rubble for all times to come as a symbol to any want to be invaders and occupiers. Theres nothing that you or I can do about it now, and there prolly never was but that doesn't mean we have to accept, encourage or condon in any way what is happening. I see it coming
