Yesterday, no benchmarks met. Today, 8 have been met and
2 others "mixed".

Guess the Iraqi parliament and military had a great last 24 hours.

1. Well they pulled an all nighter
On the plus side they sent out for Chinese food so they were able to keep their strength up.

5. You knew it was going to be 50-50 right?
Anyway it's all meaningless since they are the ones keeping score.

7. Texas managed a similar accomplishment in its standardized testing.
Texas set up benchmark tests to measure what students had learned. Early on, the results were poor, but than the Bush gubernatorial administration lowered the testing standards, and voila! Students began meeting standards at once. Bush called this the "Texas Miracle" and campaigned heavily on it.

The problem was when the next cycle of ACT and SAT tests came around, Texas had fallen in comparison to the rest of the nation, thus proving that cooking the books only changes the books, and not anything the books are actually supposed to be keeping track of.
