Urgent! I need to know the ethics of the Orange County DA Tony Rackauckas
The reason I need to know this is that I am going to be involved but not personally in a trumped up fraud case. Already I can tell from the charges that most of them are bs. The bail that has been set is astronomical so as to force the defendants to remain in jail while they fight and break them down to plea bargain to crap that they shouldn't. I am working on bailing at least one of them out at the moment.

I need a high powered connected criminal lawyer in the Orange County California area.

1. Good luck--you might want to see if you can find a CA legal discussion board.
Maybe one populated by lawyers and law students...they might be able to give you a few leads.

Why aren't the defendants appealing the bail? Did they kill someone?

4. tried to get a bail reduction. DA lied and made big stink about
flight risk. Which is ridiculous. Bail is a million a piece.

3. It just so happens ....
I know the Rackauckas family .... I played in a band with Anthony's brother and nephew. They were a wonderfully warm and generous family. I often went to the Rackauckas home (after Tony had already left), and was treated very kindly by the whole family. One sister of Tony's is a lawyer who worked for years to balance family and career to finally finish law school. Another sister is a Molecular Biologist ..... One of Tony's brothers rose from teenage self doubt and obscurity and blossomed into a brilliant Systems Analyst. The other was one of my best friends who played bass and took a bit of a left turn. He wasn't as successful as the others (so much for dreams of rock stardom), but he is still happy and loves to play music and hang with our old friends.

Tony once faced corruption accusations by a political opponent, and while I forget the details, He was able to defeat the charge and continue in office. I believe it was about helping a campaign contributor.

I am sure the details can be found in a news archive, perhaps in the LA Times and OC Register.

I dont know Tony personally, and only met him once at a family function, but I can tell you he comes from a family who value integrity.

As a side note: Spanks, I miss you bud .... Don't worry about the Les ....

Signed,
Guido
