Since Democrats took over Congress in 2006, Republicans have continued to hide behind the President's failed policies. Republicans continue to support Bush instead of supporting the United States Constitution and the US Troops. There is a debate scheduled for tonight on the Levin/Reed amendment which would begin U.S. troop withdrawal from Iraq within 120 days. I ask, for the sake of our great nation and our troops fighting abroad, that you fight to stop GOP obstruction and at the very least allow an up-or-down vote.

With approval ratings below thirty percent, President Bush clearly lacks the support of Americans. Bush and Cheney have zero credibility on the issue of Iraq and on many issues facing this country. As Senator Reid has said, "Republicans are more interested in protecting the president" than finding a sensible solution to the War in Iraq. The actions of Republicans who put Bush before this nation speak volumes. Now is the time for change. I ask that you urge Senate Republicans to break from Bush's failures and navigate a new path to success in Iraq by voting "yes" on the Levin/Reed amendment.
