get personal emails from Patty, which I really appreciate. She pays attention to her constituents, no doubt!

92. I watched Senator Cantwell speech on the floor a bit ago. |
|
It was PERFECT! Of note: She claimed that she refused to listen to folks who claimed that bush went into Iraq for the oil. She says she is paying close attention to the Iraqi Oil contract which the bush admin is trying to get the Iraqi government to sign. In it 17% of the existing oil fields will get managed by Iraq, the rest, 83% PLUS any new oil finds are to be managed by BIG OIL. This, she claims, sends the signal to people that America is trying to give Iraqi Oil away! She is working with Senator Biden to pass a resolution for bush to sign that states: America has no interest in managing Iraqi Oil. We are ONLY interested in protecting this valuable resource for the Iraqi citizens. (Not her exact words but you get the idea).
I found Senator Cantwell to be eloquent yet to the point. I wrote her an e-mail directly after she yielded the microphone to the next Senator. I have never been a fan of hers until tonight. Now I am VERY proud of her. Did you know she has worked with our Representative Jim McDermott on the Depleted Uranium issue? He is my fave of all of them from our state, and he supports Dennis Kucinich's HR Bill 333 calling for the cheney impeachment!
As far as Senator Murray, I have shown her my support ever since she was that "Young Senator In Tennis Shoes" I love what she does for the veterans here in our state, I share her concerns for our ports. That said, lately she has been a bit disappointing. She and Jay Inslee took it upon themselves to squash a peoples movement for impeachment down in Olympia a couple of months back. When I wrote her about this, she responded with a reply which started, "Two Words: President Cheney..." (Yes I get those same weekly updates and sometimes a bit more.) Senator Murray also voted WITH THE REPUKES on legislation against Americans being able to purchase legal prescription medication from outside our boarders. I and a few other fellow DUers here felt quite embarrassed by that one. Lately though,(this week), Senator Murray has been warming to the notion of "accountability" and she has also expressed her anger over the Scooter Libby Amnesty. This is encouraging. If you like, I can forward both of those form letters to you or link 'em here tomorrow. Also, I do not know if this means anything, but, Microsoft has donated $$ to Republicans over the last 6 years and little to Democrats. Senator Murray got a nice chunk of change from them this time around for the first time in her career...Well that's from what I can tell, I am NOT a political investigator but I can likely track that link for you too if you want it.

|
Is it like, if there's not enough for a quarum the filibuster ends and we can proceed to a vote? Is that why the Repigs have to scurry back from the cracks and crevices where they run and hide?

53. Could someone PLEASE give me the urls to threads 1,2,3,4,5,6, and 7. |
|
I'm been trying for hours to catch up with the comments in the earliest threads, while new threads in the series keep popping up, in the continuing saga. I'd like to read the whole thing in chronological order. I came to it late, and I don't have TV. And, let me tell you, reading DU threads is just like being there, only better! But Thread 8 failed to post the url for Thread 7--I was following the thing backwards, but got blocked--and so I've been running all over looking for Thread 7 and the earlier ones.
Did anyone keep the early ones bookmarked? Thread 1 would be sufficient. (It will ref Thread 2, etc.)
Thanks!

The corporate news media was complicit. OK I'm preaching to the choir.

107. Repuke voters are definitely raving idiots! |

Sometimes I think they believe that if a nuclear war happened, or of we had another attack like 9/11, THEY would be spared, because they have their heads up Bush's ass.
Dumb, stupid, idioic!

|
Doesn't he know he's supposed to speak in jingoistic slogans?
All this logic and facts and analysis is BORING.

127. Kerry likely won by a landslide as Gore probably did, but DNC let the RNC steal those |
|
elections at the state and county levels where they dominated the voting process in the years before the election, during the voting, and during the vote counting process.
DNC was never serious about countering GOP election fraud in 2002 and 2004 even after the hearings on 2000s election fraud gave them the blueprint they needed to tackle many of the problems.

128. He made this point repeatedly during the campaign and the corporate media refused |
|
to hold Bush accountable and instead treated Kerry as if he was lying about it. And none of the big name Democrats (like those running for president now) would back him up on this - they sided with Bush when they stayed silent, even as they knew Kerry was telling the truth and it was Bush lying about Tora Bora.

Please provide a link to thread #16 when you start the new thread.
And thanks again for volunteering to take over!
Edited to add: A good time would be when Kerry finishes talking.
