Do you realize the Iraqis themselves could have completely rebuilt everything we blew up by now? |
|
Probably for about one tenth of the money we have spent hiring thug mercenaries to kill and torture them.
Does everyone realize that?
Does someone think hiring some more murdering mercenary thugs and sending them over there to kill and torture some more Iraqis is going to make things improve over time in Iraq?
Are some people on drugs?

1. But where's the enterprise in that? |
|
And if they'd never sent thugs to kill them in the first place none of it would need rebuilding anyhow.
We're seeing an ongoing refinement of the war-reonstruction cycle. Once, wars tended to do little physical damage. Then we worked out how to do more damage, but often had to contribute to repairs to get the conquered country working again. Now we do as much damage as possible, pay our own corporations to repair it while looting the victims' assets, and nothing gets done!
Now that's what I call freedom!

2. And just how, pray tell, would that have put money in the pockets of |
|
Dick Cheney and the Bush Crime Family?
Get with the message. War is good. Peace is bad. We had to bomb them to save them from Saddam.

6. Exactly. If we'd dusted ourselves off and said 'job well done' |
|
after capturing Saddam, pulled all the troops into the green zone, a couple bases and back to Kuwait, they'd have had a functioning central government within weeks.
But we wanted 1) the government WE wanted, and 2) the oil agreements (meaning the same thing).

8. actually, that is not true. If we'd taken out SH and backed up the existing military and govt. |
|
structure LIKE ALL MILITARY PLANNERS ADVISED, we would have been able to pack up and leave sooner rather than later.
Bush/Cheney were advised to just take out top brass and put them on trial but leave military, police and govt. intact.
They did not do that.
But even if they had done the correct thing and largely left politcal and social structures intact, we would have had to have used our forces for a while.
The NeoCons failed totally.

7. Well if Halliburton can't make money why did bush/cheney |
|
go to war. The republicans in this administration are making money hand over fist and as long as they are cleaning up they don't want the war to end.
