Condi: "I'm a terrible long-term planner" (Business Week)
Would you consider a position in business or on Wall Street?

I don't know what I'll do long-term. I'm a terrible long-term planner. I was supposed to be a music major and concert pianist, and here I sit. I love serving on corporate boards, and I find American business and our corporations to be the engines of innovation for this country and, therefore, an engine of innovation for the world. One thing I've tried to do is to institutionalize the public-private partnership. The government can't do it all. When you talk about winning hearts and minds around the world, we are but a small part of what most of the world encounters about America.

1. K&r because it made me laugh
Isn't someone in her job actually SUPPOSED to be a long-term planner?

9. Yes. But what does a PhD actually mean?
That she knows a great deal about a very little, tiny, narrow bit of knowledge. It's a specialization degree.

16. Gigantic salaries for only showing up once or twice a year
That's what corporate board membership entails. It's often a reward given to ex-government officials for lucrative contracts. So Condi will get offers from Halliburton, Bechtel, the oil companies you name it.

whole bunch of corporate rejects give all the time.

32. Heck, don't we all?
It's great! Once a year or so you take a junket (or maybe you get stuck with hardasses who make you meet at their corporate HQ--the horror!), and in exchange for listening to stuff that doesn't really interest you, you make millions!

Yep, I love it too.

7. Oh great!
She spells out the Corporafascist state link right there.

"...corporations to be the engines of innovation for this country..."

The people are the fuel...without WE THE PEOPLE, there would be a bunch of scrap laying in the road of history...

Peace

14. " I was supposed to be a music major and concert pianist.'
She couldn't make the grade on that so she decided to be a failure in other ways but still make a ton of money. She failed upwards by embracing Neo Fascism.

24. "Ms. Rice, what would you say are your greatest weaknesses?"
"Well, Dick (may I call you Dick?), I tend to be impulsive. But once I make my mind up to do something, I stick with it till the end and I'm proud of my resolve, whether it be shoe-shopping or invading nations."

"Ms. Rice, welcome to the Bush administration!"

37. So was Marie Antoinette when it came to
fashion, the theater and the latest trends among the nobility. I believe Condi keeps up with couture, hot shoes fashions, broadway plays, hip places to vacation, you know those things her job lets her have. It's lovely being queen until they cut your head off.
