I was in a class the other day where 3 Republicans stood up and said they'd vote for Hillary. |
|
The instructor for the class I was in--- (A Sales Class) asked each table to team up and tell the class something that they have in common with each other that was unusual. We had 3 to a table---
Well--- one table rep got up and said--- "We're all Republicans and we'll be voting for Hillary". I almost fell off my seat. I later asked the guy if he/they were serious and he said "You Bet!"
Pretty damn stunning.

6. Are they voting for her in the primary to make sure she is the nominee |
|
and then vote for the GOP candidate in the general? Perhaps they feel she is the most beatable candidate the Dems have.

16. She won't do any of that, but, in addition, she won't help |
|
the little guy either.
That's my biggest problem with many in the Democratic Party - not just HRC. The party seems no longer to represent the Middle Class and Working Poor.

10. Why does that scare me though |
|
Because they know Hil is Rethug-lite? There's a reason she's the GOP's, at least the GOP run media's fave. It's because they feel like they can deal with her, as in corrupting her, or that they know they'll destroy her in the general election. Let's get a candidate without so much obvious baggage. Please? Can I vote twice on primary day if I'm schizoprhenic?

15. in 2004 I saw a piece on CNN about sports in Florida, South Florida I think |
|
they were talking to a bunch of bubbas (only half were bubbas) who worked at a sporting goods store. They asked who they were voting for, half said Bush. Then they asked who they REALLY wanted for president, someone said Hillary and heads nodded. The journalist asked: How many of you would vote for Hillary if she were on the ballot? ALL hands went up. Saying things like she's the real brains behind Bill etc.
I was shocked. I tell ya. Shocked.

Out of all the people we BOTH know, neither of us know one person who would vote for Hillary. That is disturbing.

WHAT I SAID WAS...we don't PERSONALLY know anyone that has said that she would be their first choice of candidate. THUS it is hard to understand how she is being put out as the candidate.

29. We are both active in the local Democratic party |
|
in two different counties. NEITHER of us know ANYONE who would vote for Hillary as their candidate at this point in time. Hillary is NOT my choice. At all. Push comes to shove, I will vote for her. But I don't believe in her. I don't believe she is the best thing for our country. It would be a vote cast as the lesser of two evils. Nothing more. Nothing less.

22. I don't envy her if she becomes president, given the nasty mess |
|
that Bush has given us.
I guess I don't see her as the devil, like many here at DU. While I'm not swooning at her feet, I do think she'll be competent, have a knowledgeable staff, and reliably pro-choice and pro public education. She will probably take a crack again at health care, this time with the business community who are hungry for more of a profit without having to pay employee medical benefits.
After Bush, HRC looks so much better. I say let's give her a chance...

23. Repubs remember how good they had it when |
|
Clinton was president. They made more money and gas was cheaper. To most the Clinton's years were the golden age. I think they are hoping that Hillary can bring that back.

about Hillary. She also likes Obama and Joe Biden, but Hill is her first choice. I think it's great that Hillary appeals to people from across the spectrum, although she isn't my first choice.
