Just met the THIRD "progressive" avidly |
|
supporting Ron Paul.
WTF?
The guy is rabidly anti-Row v Wade, wants to "crack down" on immigration, and even though he is anti-Patriot Act and against the war, does not seem to have a good grasp on what it is he would do differently.
This scares me.

1. I see handmade, magic-markered Ron Paul signs in Lincoln, NE. |
|
But these are mostly in the UNL college areas--I think that's his main support--the young anti-establishment crowd.

4. Who? the guy I know? he is |
|
a progressive, active in the green party, and not a dumb bunny at all. I know him better than the other two I met this weekend, I intend to quiz them to find out what the attraction is.

If they try to sell you the crap about the parties being alike...well, all my suggestions are illegal. And you probably don't have a woodchipper.

7. Ah, but I do have a woodchipper |

but lack the cool accent of Fargo to use it properly.
Yes, he is one of those "all the parties are alike" types.
I just wonder if this is some kind of trend.

3. And he opposed all aid after Katrina. |

He's a bad man, who is accidentally right on one issue--and that for the wrong reasons.

6. Don't know about that particular person... |
|
but some lump all "anti-war" or "anti-bush" people in the same box, regardless of their beliefs and stances on other issues. As long as they are against the war, or against Bush/Cheney, they are 'alright' in their book. It's sickening and unfortunately we see that attitude on DU sometimes. While I agree that the war is one of the most important issues facing us right now, it's not the only issue, and I don't think so-called "progressives" should throw their support behind a candidate/figure simply for being anti-war.
