Is there a thread on the Iraq War hearing on CSPAN2? |

Troop Bills: Redeploy, Rest The full House Armed Services Cmte. meets to take testimony on two Iraq War bills. H.R. 3087 would require Pres. Bush to devel- op a troop redeployment plan. H.R. 3159 gives troops a rest period between redeployments. Following the meeting, Chair. Ike Skelton (D-MO) conducts markups of both bills.

good head's up.
A retired general just testified that the troop levels are unsustainable, and that they are breaking.

5. Hunter is not an idiot. |
|
he has a serious job to do. To insure that nothing untoward happens to George and Condi and Dick and their little iraqi invasion. He will throw sand, mud, insults, and complain, then try to tie the committee into knots, and if that doesn't work, he will complain about the bitter bipartisan and unnecessary attacks on what is a good and necessary policy. He is there for a reason, and don't make the mistake of confusing his bullshit for a heart-felt idea or opinion. He is there to serve and protect the president. period.

I enjoyed watching John McHugh (R-NY) make an ass of himself.
McHugh (deriding): "Did anybody do a cost/benefit anaylsis before World War II Mr. Korb?"
Korb: "That wouldn't be done for a war of necessity, only for a war of choice."
Persistent dumbass.

13. Yes...and oddly enough, he was the original Mr. Freedom Fries |
|
Pre-2006, he was showing up at Committee Hearings--strike that and make it Democratic Inquiries because the Cons wouldn't call Hearings--and asking questions about the Iraq invasion. He has said several times that he fully believes he was lied to and is none too happy about that. He also talks about how he personally has written N letters to each soldier (apparently, this his pennance for supporting and voting for the War).

I was thinking about him earlier...had he signed on the impeachment resolution?
He looks emotionally shaken..."the families are depleated".

It's really taken a toll on him. As much as I disagree with him on so many other matters, I believe he's sincere in his change of heart. He's been very outspoken that the change is based upon being lied into the War.
As far as the impeachment thing...probably not. :(

16. HA! Turner tried to downplay Korb's report and |
|
then tried to prevent him from responding on the record. Skelton allowed Korb to respond and Korb set Turner straight.
Nice smackdown by Korb.
