Yesterday's diatribe from off the wall.

I live in New Mexico about 80 miles from Albuquerque. In many locations close to me we can only get two or three audible radio stations. I have been listening to one in particular all of my life. Yesterday, I was heading down the trail to Albuquerque, saddlebags all filled with beans and jerky, you know, TV rhymes for you and me and all of that. I was listening to a clear channel station that I have listened to forever and Rush Limpballs was on and he was lying of course. I became so insulted that I decided I would call the station. Some guy answered the phone and I began outlining my case. I explained how Rush just out and out lies. I told him that we the public own the airwaves and we shouldn’t be force fed all the crap, and that Rush has lied about cigarette smoking, global warming, the war. I mentioned his drug abuse and hypocritical character aspects. I said we don’t need to be insulted by this waste of carbon etc. and I generally went on as you can imagine. The guy listened patiently for a long time and then when it was kind of his turn he said, (paraphrasing) “I couldn’t agree with you more. I hate him, and I hate Sean Hannity who follows him. But I can’t do anything about it, I just work here and I’m ashamed of the programming.” He then went on to tell me that he has almost been fired for complaining about the matter so much. We talked a little more and the whole thing remained unresolved. I did, however, give him a line on a good job, in a different field, that he might just change to. I hope so. I made a new friend.
