Sunnis withdraw

Sunni Arab bloc quits Iraqi government
By QASSIM ABDUL-ZAHRA and SINAN SALAHEDDIN Associated Press Writer
Article Last Updated: 08/01/2007 06:44:29 AM MDT

BAGHDAD—Iraq's largest Sunni Arab political bloc announced its withdrawal from the government Wednesday, undermining efforts to seek reconciliation among the country's rival factions, and two bombing attacks in Baghdad killed at least 67 people.

In one attack, 50 people were killed and 60 wounded when a suicide attacker exploded a fuel truck near a gas station in western Baghdad. Another 17 died in a separate car bomb attack in central Baghdad.

The U.S. military announced the deaths of four American soldiers, three of whom were killed by a sophisticated, armor-piercing bomb. Britain also announced the death of one of its soldiers, by a roadside bomb in Basra.

I have never been more frustrated or more disheartened at the prospects for freedom on this planet and the future of our species.

4. It's Over
There is no government over there to support and stabilize. The Sadrist (Shia) faction have already withdrawn from the government, and now Sunni factions have withdrawn from the government. Under such conditions, there is ZERO prospect of these parties coming together to form a new government under a new PM.

is already the reality

We should never have gone there, never should have stayed and never should have allowed king george to stall for time with this "surge" just to let his cronies milk the absolute maximum money from the US taxpayer
