I object!
I'm not waiting to hear all the excuses flying forth from those who don't want to contemplate the kind of betrayal that was laid upon our doorstep today. Protecting the Constitution and the rights of the American people apparently takes a back seat to a planned vacation. I'm thankful that the majority of Democrats voted AGAINST the damned thing, but the fact that a sizable minority voted FOR it makes me question their loyalties. Or their good sense.

I'm not the only one, I'm sure. There is no good reason that a 72 hour retroactive warrant would be insufficient to do the job it was intended to do--enable the government to tap the communications of someone who could pose a potential threat to the United States. I, in fact, cannot envision a scenario in which something like that WOULDN'T be sufficient.

Unless the whole purpose is NOT to listen in to the conversations of potential terrorists communication with someone outside the country, but, instead, to listen to the conversation of political "enemies" within the country.

It's not unreasonable to suspect they might do such a thing. Nixon did it. And it's already been established that Nixon was a choir boy compared to these band of crooks.

So why, exactly, did they vote to approve this measure? Is it blackmail? Do these quisling Democrats have skeletons in their closets so horrific that the threat of exposure could mean the end of their political career? Or is it even simpler than that? Is betraying the country to these fiends some sort of rite of passage into a kooky cabal of kingmakers?

If they're not expecting criticism for this, they're fucking stupid. We bloggers and other participants in the digital media have made it CRYSTAL clear how little we trust these jokers. Granting them MORE power, when they've clearly abused the power they've already got, seems, well, a BAD FUCKING IDEA.

We particularly don't like the idea of them making something that WAS illegal, and rightfully so, now a legitimate power of this administration. We expected it from the Republicans--they suck. In fact, they excell at sucking.

But these Democrats? What were they thinking?

It should be interesting in days to come to find out how these people take having a big "Traitor" sign plastered across their faces.

I suppose we shouldn't be surprised. Taking control of Congress was supposed to give us the power to stop this sort of thing, but there seems to be just enough of these quisling motherfuckers to allow something like this to squeeze by.

How convenient.

If you ask me, a quisling is WORSE than a Republican. By putting an "R" after their name, the Republicans pretty much tell us what kind of pricks they're going to be. These collaborator Dems are far, far worse.

They had a reason to dislike bloggers before. They haven't seen anything yet.

But they will.

1. There IS NO excuse for them.
So you shouldn't hear any, but the way things are going around here, you will. And that's a shame.

6. This bill never should have gotten out of committee
What's going on in the Senate that they can't even stop a bill that violates Americans privacy rights?
